Description

Use this insulating jacket to regulate the fermentation temperature in your 27L FermZilla Conical or 60L FermZilla All Rounder. The jacket alone will help keep your fermenter warm in the colder months, or you can add a FermWrap heater if the heat fermentation isn't enough to maintain temp. Conversely, you can freeze bottles of water and put them inside the jacket to keep the temperature from getting too hot.

If you're feeling extra fancy, use frozen water bottles and a FermWrap plugged into a temperature controller. The frozen water bottles will provide constant cooling, and if the controller detects that the temperature has dropped too far, it will kick on the FermWrap to heat your fermenter back up to your target temp.

The jacket has the added benefit of protecting your fermenting beer from harmful UV light.

Features a single sided zipper and draw string bottom.

FermZilla All Rounder Fermenter | 7.9 gal. | 30 L
FermZilla All Rounder Fermenter | 7.9 gal. | 30 L
BEST ANSWER: It fits around it and zips down, however, it is about 6 inches too long and has to have the bottom rolled up like highwater pants to be used with the stand that the All Rounder comes with.
How do you use the FermWrap with the Fermzilla and the Insulating Jacket? I thought the Fermzilla couldn't use a heater because it's plastic.

Will this fit the 30L Speidel plastic fermenter?
Jason Pavento on Nov 13, 2021
BEST ANSWER: The Speidel fermenter is 18.5" high at the shoulder. The jacket is 29" high at the shoulder. Unless you have the Speidel up on a stand it will not work well. I suppose you could cut 10 inches off the bottom of the jacket.
Could someone describe how you bottle directly from this? Can you attach a tube with a bottle wand to one of the ports in the collector?
Todd Casey on May 15, 2020
BEST ANSWER: This jacket goes over a fermenter to act as an insulator. There are many ways to bottle out of the fermzilla (the fermenter under the jacket) by either using pressure fermentation to provide a pushing force or gravity feeding as usual. You can actually attach a ball lock fitting to the bottom container and bottle fill using the correct fittings if you dump the yeast first.

Garbage zipper
The product has good insulation value but the zipper is cheap garbage. The zipper is really hard to get started correctly without it pulling apart and going off the rails. If they used a ykk or quality equivalent for a zipper this product would be great.

Fits like a glove and great so far
I had been wrapping my FermZilla in a thick blanket, but this is so much more convenient! Putting it on the fermenter was easy thanks to the drawstring at the bottom, doesn't let it flap open too far, and just slid it right down from the top. It fits the fermenter with little excess space.

I expect to to really help keep the heat from my heat pad underneath. I've always been nervous about having a heat mat touch a blanket, less so with this foil and nylon jacket.

First use was with Lutra on a pseudo-lager and it kept 82-85 for the two days of active fermentation (no temp control) and dropped to 68 when I hit FG removed it. Maybe not the best example for the jacket so far, but I expect it will be great as it gets colder in my basement and I use more temperamental yeasts. It certainly let this kveik rip though!

Firmzilla Jacket
This works great. 27 liter unit in garage in 100 degree weather. Using a cooling coil keeps fermentation at a consistent 66-68 degrees with no problem.
