Description

Use this insulating jacket to regulate the fermentation temperature in your 55L FermZilla Conical. The jacket alone will help keep your fermenter warm in the colder months, or you can add a FermWrap heater if the heat fermentation isn't enough to maintain temp. Conversely, you can freeze bottles of water and put them inside the jacket to keep the temperature from getting too hot.

If you're feeling extra fancy, use frozen water bottles and a FermWrap plugged into a temperature controller. The frozen water bottles will provide constant cooling, and if the controller detects that the temperature has dropped too far, it will kick on the FermWrap to heat your fermenter back up to your target temp.

The jacket has the added benefit of protecting your fermenting beer from harmful UV light.

Features a single sided zipper and draw string bottom.

When used with glycol chiller, feels like chiller doesn't have to work as hard, so imagine same effect if using ice bottles, etc...holds ambient temps well too

Would this fit a 15.5 gallon keg?
john h on Aug 11, 2022
BEST ANSWER: Hi John,
I tried to fit the jacket around one of my 15.5 gallon kegs and it was a bit too small. It needs about another 3-4 inches before the halves will meet. If the gap isn't an issue, you could use elastic straps, but the zipper is a no-go.

Worked perfectly. I even froze a brew by accident no issues at all. Let thaw and dumped. Tasted horribly flat.

This jacket is well-made and works great
Very impressive quality and performance. I'm fermenting 11 gallons at 67F in a 90+ F garage, and the temperature rise averages less than 1F an hour. That's fantastic IMO.

Works great! Highly recommend if your fermenting in the garage.
Works great. Probably don’t “need” it if I was fermenting in the house but didn’t want to take a chance fermenting in the garage.. fits great

Another high value product from Kegland
I thought this thing was a little overpriced when I bought it, but after receiving it I must say it's another high value triumph from keg land. It is thick and heavy with reflective insulation inside. It has a zipper for easy on/off and a draw string at the bottom to cinch it up. It perfectly fits the 55l fermzilla and is a good way of blocking light from reaching the fermenter.

Keeping it warm
Does what it's supposed to. My basement runs about 65 degrees. I taped a seedling mat to the Fermzilla and with the cover it stayed at the set 84 degrees and finished my primary on a 10 gallon batch of Hefeweizen in only 3 days.
25 watt seedling mat was all it took to keep 10 gallons of brew at 84F in a 65F degree basement
