Please Note: In order to better serve our customers, we are now offering our extract recipe kits with either Liquid Malt Extract (LME) or Dried Malt Extract (DME). The majority of our DME kits were converted from the LME version, which is why you may notice slight variances in the extract names and quantities on your recipe sheet. You may also find that your Specific Gravity and ABV% are slightly higher if you choose DME. Whether LME or DME, add all extracts provided according to the recipe sheet. Ol' Irish Stout Stands Out!
I bought this kit along with the Irish Red. The kit came packaged up with everything I needed, brew day went great, and the final product is a delicious stout. I would definitely buy this kit again!

good stout i will soon forget
Not sure why, but even though I finished with less than 5g in the keg it still finished with a FG 1.022 which put me solidly at 4.7% abv which is way off the intended 6%. Still, tastes good, has good creamy head and some nice nutty roasty flavors. She is a hard fermenter, had to replace the airlock with a hose. While this is a solid good drinking beer, it is not particularly memorable. When its gone I will just be wondering what to keg next.

Toasty Stout
A good solid stout. Not too dry..creamy head and pleasant coffee notes. Not what i would consider a traditional Irish (dry) Stout but extremely drinkable. It went fast!

Great Kit !!!
Purchased two of these kits to do a ten gallon batch. Have not made beer in 20 years but my neighbor had a brewing party on super bowl Sunday and I joined in. Dragged all my equipment out and brewed these kits together in my large kettle. Kegged on 3/17. Came out excellent !! I will be buying this again. I used the Nottingham dry yeast.

KA-POW!!
I brewed this up June 29th, followed the directions, but also had to rinse grains with additional heated water to achieve my preferred boil volume. Did my usual Fermcap addition and it went without a hitch except my OG @ 5 gallons was 1.072! Cooled to 70' and pitched redydrated Nottingham and 6 hrs later it was working, and worked and worked until 22 days later when it finished @ 1.015/1.016! BOOM! 7.5%. No starter / no nutrient. Kept the ferment temp at the high end and bottled without added yeast. Carbed up nice in one week and should be ready by week 3. Nice flavor and not boozy. Will buy it again!

Great Results
This was my first mini-mash and only my third ever brew. I couldn't be happier with the results. It came out dark, haze free, and tastes great.

After I did this mini mash I have started to do all grain brews. I'm so going to do the all grain version of this soon.

Two Thumbs Up!
One of many of the economical kits I've bought. No dissappointment here as my son-in-law and daughter say....good as the Guinness they've had in Ireland.
