Description

3.7° L Briess Malting - For German style Roggen beers and whatever else you can dream up. Will leave a slight haze. Has a unique fruity, spicy flavor. Rye Malt is fully modified. It performs well in a single temperature infusion mash if used at less than 20% of total grist. Must be mashed.

Great addition for interesting flavor
I use this up to 20% in my grist in lagers and ales. It is good to use rice hulls with it over 10% to avoid stuck mash.

Morebeer is great
This rye is great. I only use a little and it adds the perfect flavor. I got mine milled. Will be buying again. Morebeer is great!!

I love rye
Rye is such a great grain. I love adding it to IPA's, Black IPA's, Pale Ales and Stouts. I find people get scared when you tell them it has rye in it but its such a great grain even at small percentages.

Great for IPA
Rye may not be a classic grain for IPA but I've been noticing a lot more breweries using a low percentage of it and have been trying the same in my homebrew. It is a great addition and I encourage others to give it a shot.

Hmmmmmm
I really thought I would like rye in my ales. I like rye bread. I love spiciness but I haven't found or made a rye ale that I like yet. I don't know why but it just isn't for me I guess. I do love Citra and I see the Citra Rye IPA review from Matt R. If you get a chance Matt I would appreciate a chance to make that recipe.

Excellent Rye
Just used 2 pounds of this in a Citra Rye IPA and came out great, even entered this in the Hangar 24 home-brew competition and won third place! I will definitely be using more of this and try it out in a wheat beer.
