Description

The KOMOS V2 Kegerator features upgraded components for faster chilling and more efficient operation. It also has a redesigned interior that fits up to four 5-gallon kegs at one time. This unit represents an amazing value in home draft dispensing. It features a digital controller, stainless steel door, stainless steel floor, rolling casters, robust KOMOS CO2 regulator, and more. This version does not include a tower kit.  Great as a fermenation refrigerator or as a unit that can be built-in when adequate ventilation is an option. Approximately 2-3" of space on each side of the kegerator is required to allow the unit enough air.  The tower is then mounted to the countertop and often a pvc collar or foam insulation is placed between the kegerator and the counter.  This can also be done with any of our regular kegerators by removing the tower from the unit and mounting it on the counter.

What's New in V2?

  • Larger Capacity - Fits up to four 5-gallon homebrew kegs
  • Dual Gas Line Inlets - Feed two gas lines at different pressures, or one CO2 and one Nitro.
  • 10% More Energy Efficient
  • 15% Faster Cooling Times
  • 40% Thicker Insulated Walls
  • 25% Larger Condenser
  • 30% Larger Evaporator

The most eye-catching difference between the V2 and the original model is definitely the capacity. This is the first kegerator we have offered that can fit up to four 5-gallon homebrew kegs at one time, and that’s all thanks to the redesigned interior. Most kegerators position the compressor on the right or left side of the inside floor, making one side shallower than the other. The V2 positions the compressor in the middle so both sides of the interior have an equal depth. This seemingly small detail allows the unit to hold up to four 5-gallon Slimline Torpedo or Ball Lock Corny kegs.

Dual gas line inlets are absolutely clutch if you want to serve beverages at two different pressures or use two different types of gas. The previous model had one inlet that was only wide enough for a single line to pass through. Now both inlets are just over 3/4" in diameter and feature PCO 1881 threads. This threading allows you to use the plastic Carbonation Ball Lock Cap (FE133) as a quick connect option for your gas lines.

Improvements to the condenser, evaporator, and insulation means the KOMOS kegerator is more efficient than ever before. The V2 also features a redesigned internal fan for improved air circulation, pulling cold air from below the evaporator and blowing it back over the top of your kegs and up into the tower to chill your draft lines.

Extra Wide Temperature Range is Perfect for Homebrewers
The KOMOS kegerator is tailored to a homebrewer's needs. Take, for example, the extended range digital controller that can adjust internal temperatures from 26 - 82°F. This allows homebrewers to use it for fermentation and is something that other kegerators don't do. The digital controller always displays the temperature and is easily adjusted from the front of the kegerator with the door closed. It's pretty nice.

Added Features
One of the unique features on a kegerator in this price range is the tower fan, which blows cold air up into your tower to reduce foaming issues. They also come standard with the KOMOS dual gauge CO2 regulator, which is super beefy and consistent in delivering accurate pressures. Most Chinese-made regulators experience creep where the pressure increases over time. The KOMOS regulator is by far the best CO2 regulator we have seen made in China.

The countertop drip tray couldn't be easier to keep clean. Built-in drip trays look cool, but they're a pain to keep clean. Before long they get pretty disgusting with dried, spilled beer -- attracting fruit flies and becoming a haven for mold and bacteria to grow. They'll often overflow the reservoir inside the kegerator causing a huge mess. Our kegerator's tray is designed to be removed and easily washed.

The fact that these will now support 4 Slimline Torpedo kegs helped synch the deal. The fact that the prebuilt one was not available with flow control faucets or with flexibility of traditional lines drove me to a build-my-own solution.

I bought the Premium Homebrew Kit and need this for my fermenter to brew hazies at 70 degrees. Will this work?
James Cruz on Aug 8, 2019
BEST ANSWER: This will cool to 70F and hold that temp. If your ambient temp is cooler than this, you’ll need a solution that can heat he fermentation vessel.
what size CO2 tank fits on the CO2 holder mount?

BEST ANSWER: The shelf is designed for a 5lb co2 tank.
Does this model (bare w/o tower) come with casters?
Michael Beardsley on Apr 11, 2020
BEST ANSWER: Yes. All of the Komos brand kegerators come with casters.
Is the top cut out/set up for me to add my own tower? Or will I have to prep it myself?
John Fitt on Oct 4, 2019
BEST ANSWER: It’s cut out but it is a bit wobbly when secure for mine. Might brace it on the inside somehow.
What other configurations does this support? With a slim 1/4bbl, can it fit two cornies or just one? With a 1/6bbl, how many cornies will fit?
Jacob Pulliam on Jul 20, 2020
BEST ANSWER: I have been able to fit 2 sixtels with sankey D tap from local breweries at once, while having a corny keg with cold brew coffee at the same time. I’ve read that 4 corny kegs are possible, but it seems that it would be quite a squeeze. 3 at once is manageable. I’m not sure how much larger a 1/4 keg is, and would not be surprised if it only allowed 1 additional corny.
Overall, a great fridge. I keep my gas cylinders, nitrogen, co2, and beer gas blend cylinders outside of the fridge
Does this use up a lot of power? I just need it to keep my fermenter at 70 degrees F and keep my 5 gallon keg cool
James Cruz on Aug 8, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hello James, the electrical specs for this kegerator are 110 v - 60 hz and 0.8 Amp draw
Can the port in the top of this be adapted to fit the KOMOS Cobra Draft Tower?
Robert Curlee on Aug 21, 2020
BEST ANSWER: Yes. The Cobra draft tower is narrower than the stock draft tower, so the install should be very simple and easy. If anything you may have to fashion an insert into the existing hole to maintain stability in the new tower.
My unit keeps freezing up on the cooler plate. I keep it at around 38 degrees and don't open it much. What is going wrong?
Sharon Napiwocki on Aug 19, 2020
BEST ANSWER: There is nothing wrong with the unit, it simply does not have automatic defrost. The cooler plate should have some frost on it, just not a large build up. If you find frost building up, it is best to do a manual defrost by increasing your temperature intermitantly (I normally do it between kegs, raising the temperature to 48-52F).
Does the tower-free unit include a drip tray? What is it made of and what are it’s dimensions?
Brett Binns on Jul 11, 2020
BEST ANSWER: THis tower-free unit does not include a drip tray. We do have a large variety of drip trays available on our website of various dimensions and materials.
Whats the warranty on this Komos kegerator?
jamie on Feb 6, 2020
BEST ANSWER: Hi Jamie, it is a one year warranty.
Does the backside need 2-3 inches as well or only the left and right sides?
Sharon Napiwocki on Oct 14, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hello Robert, yes the backside will need clearance space.
will a 17 inch coors banquit keg fit in this kegerator?
Raleigh on Jul 3, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hi Raleigh - It's hard to say exactly if the keg will fit in this kegerator. If you take a look at the kegerator's product page, it will have a list of which kegs will fit (and how many). The kegs that are listed will have their dimensions listed on their individual product pages. If the Coors Banquet keg is similar to the dimensions listed, then it will fit.

A standard sized Kegerator that can hold 4 Corney Kegs!
My 7 year old kegerator with a triple tap stopped cooling so I started shopping for a replacement. I have a built in under counter design so I was restricted to exterior dimensions that were no bigger than my old kegerator. I was pleased to find the V2 which can hold 4 Corney Kegs provided you run your CO2 line in from outside. Unfortunately my unit arrived with damage to the plastic top and side. However Morebeer did right by me by issuing a partial credit against the purchase price and I will live with the cosmetic damage. I love the up front digital control and LED temp readout. The unit runs quiet. One design improvement I would suggest would be to add a power button to the front control. The only way to shut it off is to pull the power cord which is not very convenient in a built in installation. The other thing I would add is a solid mounting spot up high on the inside to mount a CO2 multi port manifold. 4 stars due to the rough handling which damaged my unit and lack of a power switch. But overall a good unit competitively priced.

Finally! 4 Corny Kegs!
Finally a Kegerator that will hold 4 Corny kegs. Seems well built, gets cold quickly and holds it's temperature. My only complaint is that it's set up for a Komos tower almost exclusively. I had to remove the top, remove the tower adapter, and do some minor grinding to the tunnel to get my tap to fit. With some trial and error (there are very few instructions for this kegerator), and a couple of hours I had my tower fitted.

Great unit for the money!
This kegerator is awesome. I am blown away by how quickly it can vary its temp setting. This is perfect for use as a fermenter cooler. I am using carboys and a Blichtman 7 gallon conical low profile to put inside of it. Caveat- the unit did not come with an owner's manual and I had to guess as to how to operate the temperature controls. It would have been too easy just to push the button up or down like my Kegco kegerator. Turns out you need to hold the button down for 3 seconds until it starts blinking and then adjust the temp.

When you want your own build
This kegerator has worked out well in creating my own tower. Furthermore MoreBeer has supported me well when other components had issues. I can certainly recommend this kegerator and working with MoreBeer on your own build.

Great 4 keg kegerator
Very pleased with the Komos V2 Kegerator. Holds 4 kegs has 2 option spots to bring in CO2. Very tight fit to bring hoses up the tower would be only negative comment however well worth the purchase and is a great price.

Great kegerator...still need an Inkbird
First off this should probably be a 5-star review, but for some reason I thought this kegerator was different than other out there in the marketplace, namely I thought it had an accurate thermostat. I dinged it a star because the need for a separate controller should be specified in the "Perfect for Homebrewers" paragraph. That is not the case, so if you are using it as a homebrew ferment chamber make sure you pick up a Ranco or Inkbird temperature controller...you'll need it, The Komos is great, but it's thermostat is no where near +/- 1 degree and that's the game for fermentation.
