Description
  • A07, commonly referred to as "chico", is a craft brewing standard, loved for its extremely clean character
  • Performs well at standard ale temperatures but can be used in the low 60s to produce exceptionally crisp ales
  • Double pitch size with a minimum of 200 billion cells—twice the size of the standard yeast pitch
  • Imperial Yeast is a group of hard-working, fermentation fanatics who provide the brewing industry with the highest quality, most effective yeast possible

A07 Flagship is a versatile strain prized by home and craft brewers alike for its tremendously clean character. A07 Flagship performs well at conventional ale temperatures, but can be used in the low 60s to produce remarkably crisp ales. Due to its middle of the road flocculation, filtration or fining is required to achieve a crystal clear beer.

Flocculation: Low-Medium
Alcohol Tolerance: 12% ABV
Optimum Fermentation Temp: 60-72°F

The A07 Imperial pouch arrived swollen. I hadn't seen an Imperial pouch swollen before. Is the yeast still healthy? Or should I return it?

BEST ANSWER: First great yeast selection. I have used there yeast several times. One pouch in the past was slightly swelled. But I always create a yeast starter to make sure the yeast is ready to go when adding to the brew. So you should have a no problem as long as the date of expiration is with in the manufactures suggested use by date.Still think yeast starter you will never go back.

Imperial Yeast is the best
Imperial Flagship A07 my go to for Irish Red and pale ales. I have been using Imperial Yeast for years it’s the best. Just wish Morebeer would carry the full lineup of Imperial Yeast.

Fantastic yeast, chugs quickly and cleanly
The Imperial yeast brand is my favorite to use and I used Flagship for a hoppy pale. With a starter and stir plate, the yeast was ready to go and ferm was done in 3-4 days (1050 SG). Fantastic yeast.

Amazing yeast and company. The viability of Imperial yeast packs is incredible. I always make a starter and the amount of slurry I get from an Imperial yeast pack is epic. I usually pitch on the low end of the temp range and still need to deal with blow offs. Great product and company.

Great Yeast
The Lag time on this yeast was less about 16 hours. All 200 billion yeast cells are hard at work. Cannot wait to try out the flavor that this adds. Will buy again!

Normally I get a starter batch going a few days before brew day but I was pressed for time. Pitched this yeast right after transferring from the brew kettle to my Fermzilla. Pitched at about 71 degrees. Fermented under natural pressure (capped at 14PSI) for 1 week. My reading this morning had be at about 79% attenuation on my Pliney the Elder clone. My O.G. was 1.069 and todays reading is 1.014.

Took a sample of the beer along with the hydrometer reading and it is a solid brew, no funky flavors just all my hops I added.

During the fermentation from day 2 to day 5 the yeast were eating so furiously I had to show my wife and kids. My 7 year old asked me to explain why there was a tornado of activity in the fermentation tank.

Highly recommend! I will try this strain again with a bigger DIPA.

Great yeast works fast but wish there was a warning for new brewers . After using this yeast for the first time the foam (Krausen) was pouring out of the airlock. I bought another fermenter a 7gal one to avoid this and use a blow off tube for my 6 gal fermenter. I learned about top cropping yeast so I do this each week with this yeast.
