A07 Flagship is a versatile strain prized by home and craft brewers alike for its tremendously clean character. A07 Flagship performs well at conventional ale temperatures, but can be used in the low 60s to produce remarkably crisp ales. Due to its middle of the road flocculation, filtration or fining is required to achieve a crystal clear beer.

  • Temp: 60-72°F, 16-22°C
  • Flocculation: Med-low
  • Attenuation: 73-77%
  • Cell Count: 200 Billion

White Labs Equivalent: California Ale – WLP001
Wyeast Equivalent: American – WY1056

Usage Instructions:
  • Store refrigerated until ready to pitch
  • Shake and kneed pouch to homogenize slurry
  • Sanitize the sealed pouch
  • Open and pitch entire contents into well-aerated wort

Made the beer!

Normally I get a starter batch going a few days before brew day but I was pressed for time. Pitched this yeast right after transferring from the brew kettle to my Fermzilla. Pitched at about 71 degrees. Fermented under natural pressure (capped at 14PSI) for 1 week. My reading this morning had be at about 79% attenuation on my Pliney the Elder clone. My O.G. was 1.069 and todays reading is 1.014.

Took a sample of the beer along with the hydrometer reading and it is a solid brew, no funky flavors just all my hops I added.

During the fermentation from day 2 to day 5 the yeast were eating so furiously I had to show my wife and kids. My 7 year old asked me to explain why there was a tornado of activity in the fermentation tank.

Highly recommend! I will try this strain again with a bigger DIPA.

Great yeast works fast but wish there was a warning for new brewers . After using this yeast for the first time the foam (Krausen) was pouring out of the airlock. I bought another fermenter a 7gal one to avoid this and use a blow off tube for my 6 gal fermenter. I learned about top cropping yeast so I do this each week with this yeast.

Got a fuller and slower fermentation than some more expensive supposedly higher alcohol resistant yeast!

Imperial yeast is the best yeast brand I have found! No need for a starter. No need to smack a day ahead of brewing. Fast stars and fast finish. Flagship is great clean yeast that lets malt and hop flavors stand out!

Seems to have done the trick
I was a little worried cuz the yeast was a bit old. I made a yeast starter since I was trying a DIPA. Woke up the next morning and the wort had blown the air lock off and it was frothing out. Transferred to secondary after two weeks and the gravity seems to be where it's supposed to be. So, I think this yeast is good if it can handle DIPA duties. Won't know for sure for a few weeks.

Fastest Starting Yeast I have used
I made a 2000 ML starter with my yeast because it was a little warm when it arrived. I sat in the fridge for about 4 days before I got a chance to brew. I pitched in in the late afternoon and when I got up the next morning I was amazed at the amount of blow off I had, definitely needed a larger jar or bucket for this one. This was Fastest Starting Yeast I have used!
