Add servomyces to your beer to increase yeast health because healthy yeast make better tasting beer. Other benefits include a decrease in fermentation time and increased alcohol potential. Servomyces stimulates the uptake of maltose which results in drier beer with higher alcohol yields. It is made by saturating beer yeast with zinc and then drying it. Zinc is a missing nutrient in wort and is more readily absorbed from dead yeast cells than by adding it directly as a mineral. Originally available only to professional brewers, this wonderful yeast nutrient is now to the homebrewing community, thanks to White Labs and Lallemand. Since it's introduction, we have been after White Labs to make a smaller, more easy-to-use version of the product. It wasn't until our very own Shea Comfort came up with the capsule idea that they were able to move forward and deliver this "super food" to us! Olin Schultz of MoreBeer did an intial side-by-side trial batch using "Servo" and found the beer with servo started faster, fermented quicker, and finished 1 gravity point less than the control batch. While it is not a cure-all pill for your brew, it offers the serious home brewer an easy, effective way to help ensure yeast health. Servomyces was developed in Germany at the Weihenstephan brewing school and the Munich University, so of course it conforms to the German Purity Law! Contains 6 capsules good for 5 gallons of wort each. Add Servo in the last 10 minutes of the boil. If your ferment does not require a boil ( as in a mead), open the capsule and add the Servomyces directly.

Successful fermentation!
Love the ease of use of this product and it's apparent effectiveness... as the fermentation of my latest batch of porter will attest... I always worry about getting a complete fermentation even though I always make a starter and generally add a pack of dry just to be sure... I hit the final gravity on the button and I'd like to think the health of my yeasties is a big reason why!

I dont brew without it!
Ever since discovering Servomyces and its benefits, I have been brewing with it since. Roughly 20 + batches now as of 2018 and I couldn't be happier. Really helps clear beer up and keeps the yeast healthy for re-use. Give it a go and see for yourself

Yeast on steroids
I had to change from standard airlocks to blow off tubes after adding Servomyces to my wort. Huge difference in yeast activity when this is added. Highly recommend.

Glad I tried this!
I've used a different nutrient in the past, with decent results, but the capsule form of the servomyces was convenient, and the results boosted my 9% winter ale through fermentation very well. It even finished the FG a few fractions lower than expected.

Excellent addition
Have not used yeast nutrients before so cannot speak to cost efficiency between this and said yeast nutrients. Since using these, however, fermentation is quick, heavy, and long. Had to start using bigger carboys because it was fermenting so strongly and coming up the airlock, which had never happened before.

Wouldn't consider brewing without, and ~$2.00 a batch seems reasonable.

Servo never fails.
I have used Servomyces in probably 30 batches, and each and every time it has yielded great results. I have never had a batch under-attenuate, and fermentation seems to be a lot smoother. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is because of the price.
