Plastic ones get clogged with salt minerals. Hoping it is easier to clean and keep flowing. I'll expect to throw less of these away, if it all.

I just bought this item (the "Torpedo Ball Lock Disconnect Beverage Out") and it will not connect to my Torpedo Keg. Before anyone asks, I tried connecting this "out" disconnect to the "Out" post on my keg. I Tried Pushing it in, pushing really hard on it, yelling at it...nothing worked. I then put a plastic faucet, and while it was a little difficult, I could get it to connect. Any help here?

Will these disconnects work on a 2.5 gal Corny keg??
Richard Hartford on Aug 22, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Absolutely, assuming it's a ball-lock keg fitting. I have several of them, and several kegs (mix of traditional 2.5g cornelius and MoreBeer's Torpedo Kegs)
are the threads on the flare connection UN 7/16 - 20?
Colin J Tancredi on Mar 1, 2018
BEST ANSWER: There the same 1/4" flare, as is most common for swivel nuts and same as the other brands out there. Any brew supply will have an assortment of like 1/4" flare x barb, to run your lines.
What size hex or allen wrench is needed to disassemble?
Steven Garner on Mar 13, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I'm using an 8 mm Allen wrench.

Solid QD that I have used for years with no issues. Really appreciate the tubing going at a 90° angle on these.

Fitment Issues
It looks nice and is a good, solid item, but the flare fitting is a tiny bit too low. If you're using this with a faucet, however, the QD adapter (ie. KEG900) will interfere with the release collar and you won't be able to attach it. You can install the faucet onto the disconnect after its been attached to the keg, but that defeats the purpose of a quick disconnect.

Awesome
The torpedo brand stainless ball locks are 10 times better than the next best solution. To be frank, there is no comparison to the competitors garbage. Love these. Smooth operation and leak free connection.

High quality disconnect
This is a high quality disconnect and works well. I like that it works with stacked kegs! Make sure to use the plastic washer or the flare fitting will leak.

Didn't work for me but they are gorgeous
Was so hoping these would work on my corny kegs, they did not. They all leaked and now I have $80 worth of useless stainless, but they look and feel 1st class. Two units came shipped that needed final assembly as the retaining screw that has the Allen head was backed out and was never secure from the factory. I lost an entire bottle of CO2 because of the loose connection. I can move them while attached and hear them leak or worse watch beer leak down the keg. I changed all the O rings even though they are only 6 months old and used the correct lube. Finally gave up and put my plastic ones back on and all the problems disappeared.

SS but no markings like in the pic.
High quality construction with SS. These are not marked out or in... No stickers, etched in and out markings would make the look even better . Unless you have both side by side, it's is difficult to tell out or in.. Nothing a sharpie can't fix.
