this is a wonderful aromatic for lagers and German style beers. Been homebrewing since 1989 and use this hop many times.

Good but potent
If you are looking for a Mittelfruh replacement, look elsewhere. If you're looking for a potent German hop with "noble-like" characteristics to pair with other German/American hops this might be your guy.

As a late kettle addition I would say the aroma is herbal/spice and slightly overripe orange peel. The flavor is potent. This is not delicate like Hersbrucker or Mittelfruh. It's almost like slightly overripe orange potpourri. It's not an off-putting flavor but just take note that a little goes a long way. I would guess that the oil content is high in this hop (based on my anecdotal experience).

This hop could be interesting paired with Mandarina Bavaria or even Citra. German Select would be a supporting actor though, not the star. Play around with it. I want to make a Maibock with it and add all of it at 60 and 30 minutes to see what flavor remains. Interesting blending hop.

Nice hop
I used this in a Czech Pilsner. It blended incredibly well with the malt. I really think this is an excellent hop. Mostly I get a noble hop character with some earth/wood, and a slight tropical fruit/floral note. It also smells oddly sweet.

I liked it because it had a lot of subtle things going on without having one big thing knocking you over. Balanced hop.
