Kveik, the original, traditional dry beer yeast! Kveik is a Norwegian word meaning yeast. In the Norwegian farmhouse tradition, kveik was preserved by drying and passed from generation to generation. The LalBrew Voss strain was obtained from Sigmund Gjernes (Voss, Norway), who has maintained this culture using traditional methods since the 1980s and generously shared it with the wider brewing community. LalBrew Voss Kveik supports a wide range of fermentation temperatures between 77-104°F with a very high optimal range of 95-104°F. Very fast fermentations are achieved within the optimal temperature range with full attenuation typically achieved within 2-3 days. The flavor profile is consistent across the entire temperature range: neutral with subtle fruity notes of orange and citrus. Flocculation is very high producing clear beers without filtration or use of process aids.

I have a short window to brew a batch of beer. Kveik yeast can flocculate super quickly if fermented at about 75 degrees F.

BEST ANSWER: The small packs of Lalbrew Voss are meant for 19 liters of beer. Over pitching Voss leads to neutral sensory characteristics.

Good yeast
Used a packed for 7 gal of OG 1.09 traditional mead and took off right away. ran @95F and completed in 6 days. Does floc really hard so needs a daily stir to stay up and active.

Good, fast with nice esters.
Has a great fruity character when used at higher temps, but it's not overpowering. Fast clean fermentation even pitched dry into high gravity worts.

Killer yeast with great power and attenuation.
Fermented exactly as described. I literally saw action in the airlock within 15 minutes of pitching into 90 degree wort. I split the 10 gallon batch as an Amber ale and a Pale ale dry hopped with 3 ounces of Moutere. Both beers came out fantastic. Great attenuation and both beers were kegged in 5 days.

Direct pitch in homage to Interstellar Automaton originally brewed by Modern Times and collab with Automatic Brewing of SD. Direct pitch to wort at 94F. Started to ferment in JUST 2 HOURS, done in 3 days, OG 1.070, FG 1.014. Truly everything it is advertised to be. Amazing will use again!

Fast, phenomenal yeast
As a homebrewer particularly interested in recipe development at the moment, I'm looking for a yeast that's fast, fairly clean, and tough to mess up. This yeast is 11/10 on all of those fronts - it drops out like a rock in about 2-3 days, ferments in 48 hours at 95?, is quite clean while contributing subtle esters (hard to place, but vaguely orange-peel), and just seems unshakably committed to fermenting with little help. No oxygenation need, per the instructions, and you just need a heat pad and a few days. I just brewed a very solid Berliner "Vosse" in 7 days, kettle souring included (see Lallemand's SourPitch).

Bottom line, buy this immediately and give it a shot in, really, any style you can think of
