WLP653 Brettanomyces lambicus offers high intensity Brett character of horsey, smoky and spicy flavors. As the name suggests, this strain is found most often in Lambic style beers, which are spontaneously fermented beers. Also found in Flanders and sour brown style beers.

Use WLP653 for Lambic, Flanders Brown (Oud bruin), Flanders Red, Gose, Geuze and Berliner Weisse beers.

  • Flocculation: Low
  • Attenuation: 70–85%
  • Alcohol Tolerance: Medium to High (8–12%)
