Our #1 Best-Selling Yeast! Famous for clean flavors, balance, and the ability to be used in almost any style Ale. It ferments dry and has a very nice, soft malt flavor. We would say that it puts the flavor emphasis on the malt and hops. Definitely one of our top favorites, and MoreBeer!'s best selling yeast! To ferment this yeast properly pitch at 62-65F and let it rise to 66-68F. Ferment for 10-14 days in the primary. This strain can be used in all ales because of its clean crisp character it produces. Cal ale can also be used to help finish a beer's stuck fermentation.

Attenuation: 73-80%
Flocculation: Medium.
Optimum Fermentation Temp: 68-72.
Wyeast Equivalent: 1056 American

how many white labs yeast pack will fit in insulated mailer or do i need one for each?

BEST ANSWER: I typically place 3 yeast packs in a mailer along with an ice pack. If you use the larger envelope then 6 with 2 ice packs works well.
Is anyone getting strong sulfur smells from this yeast during primary fermentation?

BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. There are a lot of reasons a sulfuric smell could come from a fermentation. There are potential sources in the brewing process as well as the fermentation. If the flavor and aroma persists there are ways to curb it. After fermentation and racking to leave the yeast behind you can add either Copper Sulfate or even just some very clean Pennies to absorb the sulfur compounds. We hope that helps. Cheers!

great fermentation
This was my first experience using White Labs. So far so good, I had great fermentation within 12 hours. Fermentation lasted longer using white labs than another yeast I used in the patch. I cant comment on taste as I did not bottle yet
