Description

Chill your beer in the summer and warm your beer in the winter! Use a chill water source when it's hot or warmed water if it's cold! Temperature control during fermentation is one of the most significant contributors to the flavor of our beers, yet it all too often gets overlooked. This particular unit is designed to work specifically with the Brew Bucket Mini.

Brewers typically have limited the styles of beers they produce to the varying temperatures of the seasons. The system is elegant and engineered, yet it stays true to the heart and soul of us home brewers. The FTSs uses a precision digital temperature controller in combination with a 304 stainless steel immersion chiller. The digital controller constantly monitors your beer’s temperature and will activate the circulation pump (which, by the way, is quieter than a mouse) to hold the fermentation temperature at your predetermined set point. You can crash cool or lager too! You supply the chill water source, which can be as simple as ice water in a cooler or as involved as glycol from a chiller’s reservoir. We supply the rest of the system. As long time fellow home brewers, this is a system we know many of you have been dreaming about for a long time: advanced temperature control for the beers you make at an affordable price.

Features:

  • Custom lid w/ 304 Ss immersion chiller coil
  • Pro grade (super quiet) submersible pump
  • 110-240V power supply
  • 304 Ss weldless lid mounted thermowell
  • Tailored neoprene insulation jacket
  • Digital temperature controller

Only option for temp control with Brew Bucket Mini.

I love my brew bucket mini and this is the best way for me to maintain proper fermentation temps within it

Being able to do a fully temp controlled fermentation will hopefully make a big difference in my brewing consistency. I'm really looking forward to putting this cooling system to use with my brew bucket mini using my old mash tun cooler as the pump house. It will make it possible to bring lagers down to lagering temp slowly before putting them in the fridge to finish and also allow me to brew ales in mid summer without having to worry about temp spikes causing off flavors from the yeast.

Can I reuse the chiller to cool the wort as well?
Dmytro Dobrovolskyi on May 29, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I guess you could, but it's not designed for that. I use a wort chiller and a counter flow chiller to bring it to about 70*. This is really meant to maintain a fermentation temp.

Know issue with pump and controller problems
I purchased this in a kit from Morebeer. My issue is the pump came defective. When I went to SSBrewtech site and did some research, this is a well known issue so buyer beware.

Will update once I get the replacement from Morebeer through warranty but it does leave a bad taste about this system.

Mismatch between Mini Brew Bucket and FTSs
A word of warning: The mini Brew Bucket has recently been updated to provide handles and an attached base. However, the FTSs provided by Morebeer includes a neoprene jacket that does not have holes for the handles or base.

I purchased both the Brew Bucket Mini and this FTSs as part of the same order in Aug. 2020. I contacted SS Brewtech and they informed me that there is an updated jacket, but Morebeer says that they do not yet have it.

Works great
Using this for the first time with the 3.5G Brew Bucket. Working great. Temp set for 68º. Kicks in when temp gets to 1º over. Just a note, have a fair amount of headspace and using 3 piece airlock, sanitizer gets sucked in when temp drops. Changed to S Airlock and that seems better.

Worth it!
I have to travel for work, so I can't have a typical fermentation chamber set up. This works great for temp control and kept it stable through the ferment within 1 degrees above or below the set temp. Great alternative for temp control.
