Description

Upgrade your home brewery with an innovative, Stainless Steel, 3.5 Gallon Brew Bucket™ Fermenter!  Many have asked for a smaller BrewBucket, and that has been heard.  The Brew Bucket mini is perfect for 2.5 gallon batches.  With features similar to the original 7 gallon Brew Bucket, the Mini is a great way to do smaller batches.  Whether you are interested in splitting a 5 gallon batch for experimenting, or just brew 2.5 gallons, the BrewBucket Mini is a great choice.

Featuring a conical bottom, 304 SS construction, a rotating racking arm valve, and stackable design, these are space saving feature rich fermenters that are easy and enjoyable to use.

We inspected and used the Brew Bucket™ and one of the most unique features that stood out is that the Brew Bucket can be stacked during fermentation, even with an airlock attached. We also like the conical bottom that allows trub to settle out in a concentrated space that minimizes the surface area of the trub that is in contact with your beer.  The included Patent Pending Rotating Racking Valve is also a brilliantly simple design allowing you to rotate the racking arm inside the Brew Bucket down during fermentation to minimize trub, and later up to get clear beer when racking!   Etched Volume Markers on the inside were super handy when filling.

The build quality is really amazing for the price. Welds are clean. The lid is strong and the spring loaded lid hatches are solid.  The lid includes a removable, molded silicone gasket that ensures an airtight seal.  We love an airtight seal so that we can be sure to see the airlock working.  The welded on stainless handles make the BrewBucket super easy to move.

Features:

  • 304 SS Food Grade Construction
  • Rotating Racking Arm & Valve (Patent Pending)
  • 3.5 Gal Max Capacity (2.5 gal Batches)
  • 40° Conical Bottom for Trub Trapping
  • Nests for Storage & Stacks for Ferment!
  • SS lid w/ Silicone Gasketed seal
  • Spring Loaded Lid Clamps for Airtight Lid Seal
  • Offset Airlock Hole includes Silicone Stopper
  • Gallon Markers inside for visual volume assessment
  • Stainless construction resists damage and is easy to clean
  • 8.5" Bottom Width / 11" Top Width x 16" Height

Sized for convenience and space!
Perfect for 1-2 gallon heavy, experimental and “special” beers that only you will like. Five gallons of a test beer is rather much to choke down should it not turn out the way you’d hoped it would. Perfect for those Triples and Quads.

Great fermenter, crummy base
Love this little guy, makes Hard Cider brewing MUCH easier than trying to siphon from carboy to carboy. Also just looks really neat on my kitchen counter top. My only gripe is exactly what the others have said... the base is a real pain. it doesn't attach to the bottom so if you want to move this thing you have to have a helper move the base for you.

Great, almost amazing.
There are a lot of things to love about this product. Cleaning is a breeze, looks fantastic, fits easily into a mini fridge, transferring beer is easy.

The Good: Really easy to disassemble and clean. The gasket comes out of the lid easily, but retains well and is easy to reinstall. The racking cane makes it easy to rack beer off trub, and is positioned perfectly to minimize wort losses. It's really easy to install a blowoff tube with some 3/8" ID silicone tubing if you fill it extra high. It's not terribly heavy (Empty or full), so lifting it isn't a big deal.

The Bad: The separate base is really annoying if you ever decide to move it. The other flaw is the tiny o-rings in the racking cane. They're really easy to lose, and really easy to cut when you're installing the racking cane to the valve. The initial cleaning/passivating process is kind of a pain (Took a while to find their recommended cleaner). It'd be nice if they sent a small packet of cleaner with for initial setup.

Great fermenter, small o-rings easy to lose
This fermenter is fantastic, The markings are clear, and cleaning is a breeze. The initial cleaning is a bit of a pain. The racking cane works really well, racking clear wort into a keg is really easy.

Excellent Fermenter
After reading the reviews here I decided to purchase the SS brew bucket mini and also ordered a second rubber base for it. As others have stated, it is difficult to move the bucket as the base is not attached to it. I decided to get another base so i simply place it where i intend to move the bucket to and leave the base it was previously sitting on there when i pick it up. This is not ideal but a good workaround to solve the issue. I love the functionality of being able to turn the spigot 360 degree to the exact level of the trub in the bottom of the conical. The rubber gaskets on the spigot smashed out the sides a bit when i hand tightened it but it seems to work fine regardless as there was no leakage. Overall this product is a winner, but i feel like the second generation could solve a few of its issues. Until that time, this is a great value for the money and an awesome fermenter.

Almost a home run....
First off.... kudos to SS Brewtech for producing a brew bucket for us small batch brewers. This fermenter has a lot of great features, and is very well made. However, as the other reviewers have pointed out the removable base is an annoying design flaw and is the only thing that is keeping me from ordering two more of these minis. The current configuration with the removable base is just too cumbersome to move around for my liking. But overall I really like the mini, if they redesign with an attached base or legs they will have a real winner.

Solid Fermenter
I really like the mini brew bucket... however, I would agree the base leaves much more to be desired. I plan on making my own base for this fermenter so I don't have to attempt to carry around 3 gallons of wort / beer and worry about placing the silicon base down. This would be fantastic if it just had the legs like its big brother... I'm sure in a few months a new mini bucket with legs will come out and I'll be on the outside looking in... However, it very sturdy, looks great, and racking is a breeze... plus it will basically last forever with proper care.

Very good... but has potential to be great
This product has the potential to be great, but it lacks two features that I consider to be essential for spill/drop-free use. I would gladly spend a bit extra for permanent legs to support the fermenter and some handles for picking it up. As currently designed, it is tricky to move a full fermenter because the base is unattached and you need to maintain a firm grip on the fermenter when picking it up since it doesn't have handles. Since it is small, I've been able to move it without any disasters but it would be a lot safer with a helper to move the base for you--which seems silly for such a small capacity model.

Other than these issues, the quality is great and I'm really pleased with getting conical benefits for small batch brewing.

long wanted option.
I like being ale to do a 2.5 gallon batch in a SS conical. I am not a big fan of the lose Rubber base though. Makes for a more vulnerable knock over candidate. Not sure why they didn't give it legs like its bigger brother. Other than that its a 5 star and a welcome product.
