Description

This new dual purpose hop was grown at Puterbaugh Farms in Washington. Tested by Dr. Shellhammer from OSU, he noted it as a very clean hop with a very orange, slight grapefruit, tropical pineapple, strawberry, and melon aroma. Give this hop a try in your next pale ale.

How much needed in a 5gal to give the impression that 2lbs of strawberry pureé was used?
Scott B on Apr 21, 2020
BEST ANSWER: Not sure any amount of Belma hops would give the impression that strawberry puree was used. Even when hops list a flavor like strawberry, cherry, grapefruit or melon they will still always first and foremost taste like herbal tea and pine. It is also possible to over hop a beer giving it a soggy steamed vegetable flavor. I'd recommend that you spend the extra and get some fresh strawberries to add to the batch.

This is one of the coolest hops I have worked with. It will bring something different depending on what you add with it.
