Not usually a Briess fan
I came across this malt while reading a stout and Porter book I had purchased. The author used it quite a bit in his English beer styles. I ended up trying it in a dry stout recipe I made. It came out fantastic. It reminds me of a fuller/rounder maris otter with a hint of toastiness. I plan on trying it in a few of my other beers.

Best Base Malt Ever.
I solely use Maris Otter for any recipe needing pale ale malt. But, over the years, I have found that there are times I need the body, residual dextrins and maltiness of Maris Otter (with a little more dextrins) without the signature flavor of Maris Otter. This malt gives me the ability to create beers with the same characteristics as Maris Otter but with a totally different taste that opens up a whole new world of possibilities for new recipes that will allow you to recreate beers and have them be the same in every other regard but the flavor of the malt but with no less impressive taste than a premium pale ale malt or high end base malt. It's a even keel for my love of this and Maris Otter and as a professional brewer that holds a heavier weight in my heart.

A Favorite
This is one of my favorite malts for lighter ales. The flavor is mild but sophisticated and delicious.

Very Nice Malt Indeed
This is a nice malt that lends just a subtle toastieness, without any bitterness. I find myself using at least a bit in most of my recipes. I've been tempted to try it as a more or less single malt brew one of these days.

Excellent Malt For Irish Red ALe
I love this malt. I use it exclusively now when I make my awesome Irish Red Ale. Nice malty flavor that really blended and complimented the other specialty malts in the beer I made. Try it you will not be disappointed.

Great for English Mild
Used as base for an English dark mild. Was excellent. Had good body and mouthfeel for a session beer.
