can you ferment under pressure?
Joshua Henson on Dec 4, 2020
BEST ANSWER: This fermenter is not rated for pressurizing. This generally means you can transfer from the fermenter under a small amount of pressure (up to 5 psi) but you will not be able to sustain pressure during fermentation (spunding) or carbonate inside this fermenter.
Are there any problems doing a 5 gallon batch in the 14 gallon Crucible with the cooling system?
David Peters on Apr 17, 2023
BEST ANSWER: Indeed. If the cooling coil isn't fully submerged in your beer, it won't be as effective. I'd expect a 5 gallon batch to only partially cover the cooling coil.
What is the diameter of the 14 gallon crucible? I'm looking to get a heat wrap. Any recommendations?
Jacqueline Rice on Sep 28, 2022
BEST ANSWER: 16 inches

Are there casters available / can they be added onto the crucible stands?

Anvil Crucible™ Conical Fermentor - 14 gal.
Anvil Crucible™ Leg Extensions - 14 gal.
Anvil Crucible™ Leg Extensions - 14 gal.
BEST ANSWER: We planted the crucible firmly into a solid wooden stand with its own casters. It felt too tipsy on its own.
Can I put casters on the legs?
William Street on Apr 23, 2022
BEST ANSWER: I wouldn’t recommend it. It feels a little too tipsy to me, so I built a wide base with casters and secured the legs of the fermenter to that base. Now it feels more secure and is mobile.
Can a sight glass be added to the 14 gal anvil conical fermenter?
robert Puckett on Dec 16, 2021
BEST ANSWER: You definitely could add a sight glass by using a TC tee on the bottom port and the airlock fitting on the lid and connect them with some type of translucent tubing. Usually this is not recommended for fermenters since it is a very tricky thing to clean and maintain sanitary conditions with more accessories added to a fermenter.
