Description

A stainless steel mesh basket with cylindrical disc bottom that is suspended by a stainless rod from a silicone bung. The sulfur disc is placed in the basket where it burns. Drips from the burning sulfur are caught on the bottom.

Sulfur Burning. Bung Hole size.
Heads up, this does not fit through the bung hole of smaller barrels (e.g. I have 14.8 gallon barrels) otherwise it is a great product and well made. I had to return the one i purchased.

The stopper does not seal well at all. I had to tape it down so the smoke would not escape. After it burned out I removed it and placed a rubber stopper in the hole.

Works as expected, required some adjustment
Works, as expected, required some adjustment to the lower pan which was slightly too wide for the opening of my 100l barrel.
I was able to grind down the lip.

Works well, but not perfect
Bought this to use in 30 gallon wine barrels. Works well with the sulfur pucks, but is hard to get the timing right. I usually light and wait for the puck to fully catch before inserting the cap. The cap is designed to not create a full seal, which seams off to me.

Worthless for 6 gallon barrels although theyre suggested for it
Poorly made, and when you look at or buy a barrel (like the 6 gallon barrels) it pops up as a suggestion - guess what - it doesnt fit those barrels. Total waste of money. This site doesnt sell anything to use in those barrels so if you buy one, you're stuck.

Does the job but...
Simple tool that does a simple job but could be a lot better with one minor improvement. When using on stacked barrels it is very difficult to get the burner through the opening of the barrel on the lower rack. A simple rivet style hinge about 1/3 the way up the arm would make this the perfect tool.
