Description

  • 1/4" flared inline check valve can be used with any flare threaded ball lock or pin lock quick disconnect
  • Allows gas to flow out, but won't allow backflow of liquid into your gas system
  • Ideal safety measure if you force carbonate your beer using the bev out dip tube
  • Built-in flare washer—no need for a separate nylon washer that is required with stainless steel QDs (male flare threaded side only)
  • CMBecker is an international manufacturer of beverage dispensing solutions for both home and professional draft equipment

Add this inline check valve to any flared gas-in disconnect and protect your draft system! The check valve allows gas to flow out, but won't allow backflow of liquid into your gas system. Many manifolds and regulators already feature check valves, but this disconnect will keep liquid from ever entering your gas lines in the first place. Especially handy if you force carbonate your beer using the bev out dip tube!

Why we love it:  Because we've had beer shoot back into our gas line and that sucks. At some point you will have a keg that is pressurized more than the pressure in your gas system. This could be caused by different carbonation levels, a keg sitting at room temperature, etc. So for example if the pressure in your keg is at 20 psi and your regulator is set at 12 psi, when you connect your gas in quick-disconnect liquid shoots from the keg into the gas line. Eliminate that possibility with this ingenious fitting.

If you're looking for a ball lock disconnect with a built-in check valve, we highly recommend KEG729. However, the beauty of this inline check valve is that it can be used with any flared disconnect, including pin locks. If you don't want to part with your high-quality stainless steel disconnects, this inline check valve is for you!

Is there a way to disassemble it for cleaning?
H Marc Gorfinkle on Apr 23, 2023
BEST ANSWER: I have not figured out a way to do that. Doesnt seem possible without breaking.
If my regulator already has a shut off check valve NPT to Flare/barb, would i get backup protection from this CM Becker Inline Disconnect Check Valve hooked up to my Quick Disconnect or would it provide no extra protection or would it possibly cause a negative reaction? The reason i ask is that right now the last line of defense for my regulator is the regulator's built in shut off check valve but it is screwed directly into the regulator. That seems a little to close for comfort. Will i still get liquid in my gas line right up to the shut off check valve on my regulator? Can i install this CM becker inline disconnect check valve onto my quick disconnect and still use my regulators shutoff check valve or is it useless or even a negative to do that? Maybe i just need to trust my regulator check valve but it would be nice to have double the protection in case one fails. Does anyone else worry about this or am i being overly cautious. I am new to kegging.

BEST ANSWER: You can sure do that. It won't hurt anything and check valves are known to fail - rarely but it does happen. The only downside I could see is you might have to increase pressure slightly (1 psi) as they do provide some resistance. The main thing to always remember is that beer flows from high pressure to low. Don't overfill kegs, don't over carbonate, and always double check you're connecting your gas disconnect to the right post. Check valves are just insurance. I've gone through several regulators learning these lessons.
What size flares are on the ends?
Chris Stackhouse on Sep 25, 2021
BEST ANSWER: This disconnect uses 1/4" flare threads. This is the standard size you find on most kegging equipment.
Does anyone have a cleaning procedure for when beer ends up in these or is there a disassembly manual out there?
Nicholas Giorno on Aug 10, 2022
BEST ANSWER: Did this happen? I bought this to prevent this from happening and never had a problem since.

Works like it’s supposed to.
Worked perfectly, didn’t jam up. The other, less expensive, brand I purchased got stuck shut within a week, while these kept on trucking.

Better than the post check valve
I was tired of moving my 5 gal kegs and seeing beer in the CO2 line. I switched to check valves to eliminate the issue. However, the post check valves seemed to have a leak. I thought I had defective post check valves and bought brand new ones, which cause all the CO2 to empty from the keg and the CO2 tank. After switching to the inline check valve, I have not had any keg or CO2 tank to empty overnight.

Something I've needed for a while.
Very happy with this product. I force-carbonate my beers in Corney Kegs inside my kegerator. I have always had problems with beer in the gas lines when carbonating multiple kegs at once. This nifty little gizmo solves that problem, and I wish I had it long ago. Easy to use without any tools to connect/disconnect. Highly recommended!

Ever have beer get into your gas line? I hate that. This keeps that from happening.

Stops beer from back following out my co2 inlets if I forget to vent off keg pressure before putting a keg on tap at serving pressure if it was already at a higher pressure for carbonation. Also keeps lines clean if using a soda bottle with carbonation cap and shaking to force carb small samples. Over all saves on potential line cleaning on all CO2 lines.
