For best results we always recommend ordering an ice pack with your liquid yeast.

Please Note: When choosing an ice pack option beware that the liquid yeast will not arrive cold even when shipped together. Ice packs and insulated mailing options are designed to keep the yeast colder for longer during shipment, but they will not ensure that your yeast arrives cold. We will not replace liquid yeast that arrives warm. During warmer months we strongly recommend you choose dry yeast.

Great yeast. Very active very early.
It worked out great for a Russian Imperial Stout. I have a 1/2 bbl SS brew tank with a blow of tube going into a bucket. The yeast was so active within about 18 hrs that it blew about a violin of water on my floor from gas production. It started out strong.

Don't let it get too cold
I've used this a few times for porters, browns etc. and like the flavor profile. Last time however, I made a starter with it, and it began a vigorous fermentation....but I let the swamp cooler dip into the 50s for a few days while I was away and could not restart fermentation, despite warming and agitating. Super flocculant on the samples. Another starter with some notty was required to finish it off. My fault on the temps, but other yeasts I have used recover from this kind of mistreatment. On the plus side, it was a good catalyst to finally invest in some proper temperature control gear.

Practically DOA, even with cold pack
Yeast pack arrived, hot, inside a cold pack I paid extra for. The cold pack was hot. Not sure it even was ever frozen. Popped the pack the very next day and after three days it was barely swollen. I went ahead and pitched it to my wort and it took 36 hours to even begin fermenting. I think I'm done with Wyeast as that's the second one I've had do that.

Nice In English Brown Ales
I use this yeast in some of my English Brown Ale recipes. Will impart a mineral taste and lets the malt flavors come through very well.

Great Strain!
Used this as a primary yeast in a flanders red ale. Great attenuation and flavor profiles. Very clean yeast! Will use again.

Great English strain
I usually use Thames valley ale yeast for small English beers like ordinary bitters but this is nice for bigger English brews.
