my house lager yeast
i use this in my hand crafted house lager and always get great results. it is great to use in other lager recipes as well. I use it primarily at lagering temps (50) and it never lets me down.

Let It Lager
I used this yeast for a fresh hopped California common lager. After naturally carbonating half in bottles and half in a keg, I was incredibly disappointed with the flavor and aroma of the beer. I decided instead of throwing out the whole batch I would lager it at 40 degrees F for a month. The flavor and aroma change over one month was incredibly. This is one of the best batches I have brewed and the fresh hops really stand out against the clean lager-like finish. I highly recommend a lagering period with this yeast, even though it isn't a traditional lager yeast. Fermented at 58 degrees for 2 weeks.

Can't go wrong with White Labs and San Francisco Lager is a must for steam style beer
I prefer White labs over other brands of yeast. San Francisco Lager allows a new brewer some flexibility in fermentation temperature. For more experienced brewers White Labs - San Francisco Lager will get you that unique and wonderful Steam beer.

Go to yeast for lager-like beers
I have used this yeast because I have wanted to make lager type beer but cant get it down to the 50s. Ferments in the 60s and much faster.

Perfect Steam Beer
This is the yeast you want for perfect Anchor Steam clones. Hit a fermentation temp between 65-69 and will still get that clean lager "steam" character.

The ONLY yeast to do a California Common
Ferment around 62-64F and you should get the classic flavor desired.

Perfect first time lager
I mistreated this yeast with high temps and low temps. Still did a nice job of creating lager flavor.

Great All Purpose Lager Strain
If you don't have the capabilities to properly lager a beer or are a big fan of the California Common style of beer this yeast is for you. It ferments pretty fast and flocks out well also.
