Description

WLP545  is a yeast strain from the Ardennes region of Belgium, this classic yeast strain produces moderate levels of ester and spicy phenolic character. Typically results in a dry finish, but still has body and mouthfeel.

WLP545 Belgian Strong Ale Yeast is well suited for Belgian dark strongs, Trappist-style ales, Belgian blondes, dubbels, tripels, golden strong ales, Belgian pale ales, Belgian IPAs, Belgian speciality ales and holiday ales.

  • Attenuation: 78–85%

A Beast!
I used this yeast in my Belgian Dubbel per the recommendation of Dan in the Riverside showroom. I made a 1000 ml starter and fermented at 70 degrees. It took my 1.062 wort down to 1.006. I can't wait to use it again.

Belgian Dubbel
Currently working on the perfect Dubbel with my son. This yeast starts well, ferments strong and smells wonderful. Be sure to use a starter and stir with O2 after pitching. I am comparing this yeast with 4 others on the same receipt for best flavor in what we personally like. More later...
