Description

This new yeast strain is taking the country by storm. Ideal for IPAs and other hop forward beers, this yeast will provide a unique flavor profile and nice body. This is the ideal strain to make your favorite North East IPA, New England IPA or Hazy IPA.  To ferment this yeast properly pitch at 62-65F and let it rise to 67-70F. Ferment for 10-14 days in the primary. This strain will produce more esters and diacetyl than WLP001; a temperature increase post fermentation is recommended.

Attenuation: 73-78%
Flocculation: Medium.
Optimum Fermentation Temp: 67-70.
Alcohol Tolerance: Medium - High (8-12%)
Wyeast Equivalent: 1318 London Ale III  (Not exact)

For best results we always recommend ordering an ice pack with your liquid yeast.

Please Note: When choosing an ice pack option beware that the liquid yeast will not arrive cold even when shipped together. Ice packs and insulated mailing options are designed to keep the yeast colder for longer during shipment, but they will not ensure that your yeast arrives cold. We will not replace liquid yeast that arrives warm. During warmer months we strongly recommend you choose dry yeast.

I received a packet of this today. However, the "Best By" date is today as well. If I put this in the fridge until I need it in a week, am I going to be OK?
Mark J on Jul 13, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Hello Mark - A starter would be recommended, but you should be okay.
I'm doing the More Haze extract kit and somewhere it mentioned to use 2 yeast packs if you don't use a yeast starter? Should I be using 2 of these for that kit?
Matthew Herold on May 12, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The MoreHaze kit is considered a double IPA; for these higher gravity beers, yes, we recommend either using a starter or doubling up on yeast packets.
My beer isn't bubbling and it has been 2 days. So you think my yeast was dead?

It works for a Hazy IPA.
Worked quite well for the Hazy IPA I had made.
I recommend getting the ice pack to keep them cool while shipping particularly during the warmer months.

Solid fermentation and balanced beer
I did a side by side fermentation of a 1.050 OG with wlp001.
wlp095 completed fermentation faster, produces a more rounded beer, and finished within .001 of wlp001. Great yeast for a NE pale ale.

Wicked Active
It seemed to start fermenting for me the next day after pitching. I don't use a starter yet and it was nice to see the yeast so active so quickly. Activity seemed to last for an extra day too. Idk what it was, but I've already ordered another pack of it to use again.

Great all around IPA/pale ale yeast
Fermented down further than I expected, mashed at 152 pitched and fermented at 68. This yeast took a 1.070 SG wort down to 1.008. Bitterness for this recipe came off a bit harsh from the very dry beer produced by this yeast. Great aroma and yeast character in the final, flocced out more than expected resulting in a fairly clear beer given the amount of whirlpool and dry hops.

Use at lower temps than stated on the packet
I used this yeast at 75F (which is within the temperature tolerance on the packet), and the beer tasted mainly like ripe, sweet apples.

Fantastic for NEIPAs!
I made an all citra neipa, and it was by far my favorite batch I've made. Juicy and hazy, but no overly sweet. Preferred it to 1318. Just make sure you make a starter, and you shouldn't have any lag issues. Usually starts fermenting within 12 hours.
