WLP013 London Ale Yeast is malty, dry and provides a complex, oakey ester character to beer. Bitterness from the hops shines through as well, making WLP013 perfect for classic British pale ales, bitters, and stouts. Will not flocculate as much as WLP002 and WLP005.

Amazing Yeast
I brewed a 3.5 gallon 1.111 OG RIS. Mashed at 153 and fermented steady at 66-67. This temp has been controlled by heat and freezer with thermowell inside the wort so I know it has not moved beyond this temp. I pitched a starter of 400 million with this yeast and it took it down to 1.022 in 3 days!!! Was not expecting that. Bubbling has slowed much since but still moving. Beer removed for Gravity reading has great flavor but not getting the oaky flavor others have had.

Ice pack not included
This was my first time ordering yeast from MoreBeer and I missed the line about ordering an ice pack. Now I have no idea how my yeast is and all over a $.79 ice pack. Just include it and charge me for the ice please, this is stupid. Every other place I've ever ordered yeast from includes it so I don't have to think about it.

First time used
Was worried during fermination because beer was smelling overly oaky. This eventually disappeared and make a pleasant beer. Used with Firestone Walker pale 31 kit.

Love white labs
If you can get the right cell count works great in english barleywine.

Great yeast
My first time using it. I was worried at first when the starter and beer smelled oaky. But after fermentation was over it was gone. Fermented @ 64 then bumped up to 68. Very clean. Next time I may start higher to get some more flavor.

Good for certain style
Personally I feel this yeast fits a narrow windows of beers. I was making a Eng. Brown, and just thought it lacked a little. I will check my recipe before I totally blame this yeast though.

Great for Engish ales
Different profile than the English Ale yeast. Does not attenuate as much, which is good for certain profiles and styles.

Love to start this off in a Mild, and see where the Thames takes me.
Excellent English yeast character. Got a BoS in Mild using this yeast.
Can handle higher alcohol beers and actually feremtns quite clean in the lower 60s.

Great for dark English ales
Lends an assertive sorta smoky note to anything you brew. Definitely not a "clean" yeast like WLP001, so be prepared for the flavor to shine through. Great in an English style stout, porter, brown, etc. Less sweet tasting, more dry tasting with that smoke/wood essence.

White Labs says this doesn't flocculate as well as WLP002 and WLP005, but I still ended up with a nice chunky yeast cake at the bottom.
