From one of the oldest stout producing breweries in the world. It produces a slight hint of diacetyl, balanced by a light fruitiness and slight dry crispness. Great for Irish Ales, Stouts, Porters, Browns, Reds and a very interesting Pale Ale. To ferment this yeast properly pitch at 63-65F and let it rise to 65-68F. Ferment for 10-14 days in the primary. This strain can be used in all ales because of its clean crisp character it produces. Irish ale can also be used to help finish a beer's stuck fermentation.

Attenuation: 69-74%.
Flocculation: Medium to High.
Optimum Fermentation Temp: 65-68.
Wyeast Equivalent: 1084 Irish

Great if you can keep it alive!
This yeast provides the perfect flavor for my red and dark ales...however, only if you can keep it active. It unfortunately accounts for all of the miss-throws that I have had.

Nice Yeast!
Made a 1 gallon batch of Irish ale to harvest enough yeast for my next 2 5 gallon batches. Came out lovely and propagated very well!

Wasted $
It took 2 weeks to ship. By the time it arrived, the ice pack was a waste and the yeast was warm and unresponsive. Even tried to do a starter, but to no avail. Had to go buy a replacement at LHBS. Moral of story...buy ingredients online, but buy yeast local.

Quick starter
Used a yeast starter, and had activity within 8 hours. Finished a bit high at 1.014. Created a nice malty Irish red ale.

So far the yeast had no flocculation, which I know it states low Flocculation but this had zero. I was nervous because this was for a 1BBL batch. The yeast showed up 4 days late after ordering and paying for two day delivery. Cold packs were melted and warm. But.... the Fermenter is moving along in our 1 BBL glycol conical

Awesome Strain
Incredible attenuator - prepared a 1.5L starter for a six-gallon batch of an English-inspired milk stout (1.057 OG), and the yeast took off in the first 8-12 hours. Temperature rose from 64 to 72 degrees F within first 36-48 hours, and the activity in the airlock is unlike anything I have seen to date. Looking forward to the results!
