From one of the oldest stout producing breweries in the world. It produces a slight hint of diacetyl, balanced by a light fruitiness and slight dry crispness. Great for Irish Ales, Stouts, Porters, Browns, Reds and a very interesting Pale Ale. To ferment this yeast properly pitch at 63-65F and let it rise to 65-68F. Ferment for 10-14 days in the primary. This strain can be used in all ales because of its clean crisp character it produces. Irish ale can also be used to help finish a beer's stuck fermentation.

Attenuation: 69-74%.
Flocculation: Medium to High.
Optimum Fermentation Temp: 65-68.
Wyeast Equivalent: 1084 Irish

For best results we always recommend ordering an ice pack with your liquid yeast.

Good stuff
Arrived full of life! Activity began just hours after pitching without a starter of any kind.

Make magic in your fermentation vessel
White Labs is the de facto yeast masters. They consistently produce quality products and yeast strains. I've used several of their yeast including my favorite Belgian style ale yeasts. This is the first time I've used WLP001 and it produced great results. Somehow the yeast gobbled up my sweet sweet wort and produced C02 and alcohol. What a magical thing. Don't even hesitate, get liquid yeast not dry nasty yeast that often produce off odours and flavors.

Perfect for a Red
Great ale gives that character expected from a red ale. Accentuates the hops nicely I found.

love it
This is a great yeast for stouts. It help the malt profile shine through, and has a great complimenting ester profile.

Superb milk stout yeast
Great, easy to use yeast. I pitched a starter which made for a very quick and robust fermentation in a milk stout. Highly recommend this product.
