An agglomerated cork that offers a great seal using compressed pieces of small cork. Fantastic value. Because they do not compress as easy as natural corks, you will need a floor corker, as opposed to a handcorker, to push these into the bottles.
Trialing this cork with a bag of 25 split between two different white wines. I usually use the Grade 3 natural corks. I like this agglomerated cork so far; great quality, easy to use in the floor corker, looks good in the bottle. We shall see about longevity, but my initial impression is positive! At about 25 cents per cork, on price it beats Grade 3 natural (50 cents) and gives an arguably more consistent texture throughout. Recommended for aging 3 years or less; well suited to white wines.
This is my third order of Aglica corks. I use a floor corker and have not had a issue with these corks. Then go into the bottles with ease, no leakage. My wine is intended to last two years, I have no interest in aging it any longer. These corks are wonderful.
These are very uniform and sturdy corks that don't chip or break easily. Contrary to the product description, I have used these very successfully with a very cheap hand corker -- the Mini Corker.
