Wine Corks - 1 3/4 in Agglomerated 1+1

Please select from the following option(s) to see pricing and availability.

This is a high quality agglomerated cork with solid end caps. An agglomerated cork is a cork that is composed of many small pieces that are pressed and adhered together. As the quality of cork has declined many wineries have begun to use alternative corks, such as synthetics or these agglomerated corks to insure a good seal in their wine. These corks offer the assurance of a good seal while at the same time allowing the breathing properties that solid corks offer. Agglomerated corks work best with floor corkers as they are hard to put in with hand corkers (they do not compress as much.)

The synthetic corks tend to leak when I use my floor corker. These are decent quality corks that compress and seat

Good quality cork that has worked well for my 3 year old wine. Don't know if it will work for longer time because my wine is gone by then.

1 +1 Agglomerated Corks
Very nice corks, but after a couple years, pulling the cork sometimes splits the cork. Driving the corkscrew all the way through the cork may help.

Corks work great even with hand corker
I was a little concerned with the product description suggesting a stand corker should be used with these firm corks. I've had no problem using my simple red plastic hand corker. I just steam the corks to sanitize and make pliable then just push down on the corker with a bit of body weight.

so far so good
I recall reading some negative ratings of these corks AFTER I had already bought them. So I was concerned when the time came to use all 1300 of them. They went in fine after short (less than 30sec) dips in sulfite solution. I'm happy enough to give them top rating.

Not sure how the reviews on these corks were so good before I purchased. I base all of my purchases on reviews and trust the experience of others. I am very disappointed with these corks. As others have said, the ends tend to chip and get mangled. Leaves small pieces of cork in the wine when opening. I'd return these if I could and won't ever buy them again.

Great for Long Aging
Great for long aging wines. The quality is the best I have found for this type of cork. After all of the effort to craft a truly good big red, the price difference between these and lesser corks is inconsequential.

Do not like these corks
When pushing the corks into the bottles the cork ends delaminate and or chip off. The cork centers on about 50% of the corks are hard and do not readily receive a cork screw. A normal cork screw tears the center out and pulls out only half of the cork. I think they are dry-rotted but I'm not an expert just the guy trying to use them. I suggest getting the corks from a better source.

Great cork for the price. I have bottles of wine that are five years old with these courts and have had no issues.

I ordered 200 of these, and used a floor corker. The end caps crack and leave small cork pieces in the wine. Even the top of the end caps chip off and leave small cork pieces all over. I would never order these again...

Leaves Particulates in Wine
We used these corks and while they fit in the bottle well clients began commenting on white flakes in our product. We investigated and found that the flakes were only there in bottles where we used these corks. I'm not sure if it is the glue used on the end-caps or something else. In any case we will be buying different corks from now on.
