these pumps indicate that they have a 1/8" barbed outlet and diffusion stone have 1/4" barbed connection - how is this handled with available tubing sizes?

BEST ANSWER: Hi Richard - We typically recommend a filter between the pump and stone, which can handle multiple tubing sizes.

Good basic pump
Great for pumping air through fish tank stones. Was not powerful enough for stainless diffusion stone.

Certainly helps!
This really makes a difference in the fermentation of your wort/wash. I was not able to hook it up directly as the air port on the pump is very small, it is the actual standard aquarium hose size, but I guess I didn't realize how small that is and that you will need to find exactly the right size hose that will fit over your wand or stone (which are bigger) and the aquarium hose. double check the ID sizes. Overall the pump works very well.

A great upgrade for a better beer.
Shaking or stirring your carboy does not aerate your beer as you might think. I always recommend this to brewers that may be still somewhat new to make their beer better. Fermentation is very important to making good beer and this helps get the ferment started quickly. Very easy to use. Overall, cheap for the amount of difference it makes in your beer.

A difference aeration does make.
Three batches ago I acquired a Whisper Aeration Pump. Taking the time to sparge in air with this product has enhanced my final % and given me a noticeable increase in fermentation activity. I would recommend this not only for these qualities but also the ease of use and it is as quiet as advertised.
