Is this malt modified enough to convert it's own starches, or should it be mashed with a more highly modified malt to do this?
Jim S on Jan 17, 2019
BEST ANSWER: The weyermann site says you can use it at 100%, so it should be self converting.

The DepthMaker
A great malt to add depth to truly malty German styles like the various Bocks or an Amber Kellerbier, but would also quite likely be at home in an Imperial Stout or Porter, Old Ale, anything malty and big. Though I'm sure there's a killer Dark Mild recipe out there based in part on this malt!

Very Malty
I use this grain in my Munich Dunkel lagers. Very malty and makes a beautiful flavorful Dunkel.

Fantastic
I used this in a delicious Munich Dunkel - 80% Munich, 16% Pilsner, 4% Chocolate Malt. 1.056 OG, 25 IBUs of Hallertau at 60 minutes and White Labs 833.
