Nice Surprise
Been awhile since needing brewing ingredients. Placed an order with MoreBeer. (Spent WAY TOO MUCH money at MB over the years as MB is one of my top “go to” places for all things brewing ;-)) Nice surprise, and a, why didn’t this happen before moment, when seeing the 5-pound bags of ingredients as every bag has a zip lock. Small bag change for a HUGE improvement. Way to go MoreBeer!

One thing that hasn’t changed since my last ingredient purchase from MB: Fresh quality ingredients delivered in a timely manner.

Good in porters and stouts.
Imparts a nice flavor and dark color, without being harsh or ashy-tasting.

very useful
Gives great color and character without harshness or burnt flavors. I use it for Dunkelweisens etc but also small quantities in other styles for color correction

It works
Use when you want to add color without all the dark malt character to any beer. I used it for a black india pale lager.

Perfect for black IPA
gives you great colour without astringency. Highly recommended for Black IPA and perhaps Robust porter or other browns.

My Favorite Color Malt
This is my favorite color malt. I use it for all styles where I'm trying to reach a certain srm. It's great for all styles because the flavor contribution is minimal.

Great stout addition
This is a great way to get a darker beer without adding as much bitterness and burnt flavors like you get with black patent or black roasted barley. Of course it is always fresh when I buy it from MoreBeer.

Nice grain
I bought way too much of this a few years ago, but have been using it in some of my darker ales, especially when I run out of chocolate. It doesn't give the same flavor as chocolate malt, but does provide a little flavor, and a lot of color. I've used it in brown ales, porters, and stouts, all to good effect.
