Typical beer lines are too short to prevent foaming at the tap. With this tubing it is not only possible to extend the lines, reducing foam formation, but also to minimize microbial growth on the inner surface of the tubing.

Just got my tubing installed in a new keezer with the intertap flow control faucets. I'm having a lot of foaming issues and I can't dial my system in. The lines are all ten feet. I've tried low pressure at 5psi and high pressure at 20psi. Nothing seems to work. Any ideas?

Can this tubing be used with Duotight fittings? If so, which one?
JOHN DUNLOP on May 29, 2020
BEST ANSWER: I only like to use Duotight with sturdy PEX or EVA barrier type tubing. Any tubing with flexibility will be more difficult to engage and more likely to leak. I like Ultra Barrier Silver but haven’t tried it with Duotight directly. I have used Duotight-to-short piece of PEX to-quick disconnect (H550) to Ultra Barrier, however. It works great for me that way.
Can I use this as gas line?
Zac Evans on Jul 21, 2019
BEST ANSWER: It’s primarily used as a liquid line. The internal diameter of the tubing dictates if it has the capacity to hold a gas under pressure. Most liquid lines don’t possess this. I would just order gas line to be safe. You don’t want to wake up with an even worse headache. If you’re in a pinch at the moment and need it “now” then I’d go to a local shop if possible.
What is the OD of this hose? Thanks!
Daniel Breen on Mar 5, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hi Daniel - Item information can be found toward the bottom of the product's web page. 'Technical Specifications: 3/16" line provides 2.2 lbs of restriction per foot. Ideally pounds of resistance should equal pounds of applied pressure. 3/16" line holds 1/6 of an ounce per foot. PVC Free. 7/16" OD'
I have read that the beer line calculators aren't accurate with this. I have 6' lines on my kegerator now at 14psi and 38°F. I still have foaming issues. I read you have to double what the calculators say with this line? Is this true?
Dan Blum on Jun 2, 2018
BEST ANSWER: For such a short draw, sometimes calculators can be inaccurate. Better suited for 20+ feet. Try lowering to a serving pressure below 10psi.
Does it leach the silver into the beer over the 528.34 gals of it's antimicrobial life? After the first 528 gallons should the line be replaced?
Jason Wagner on Jul 26, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Hello Jason - TUB400 offers extremely low leachables, after the 2000 liters of beer, it's likely the antimicrobial begins to degrade. Replacement is up to the consumer and preventative maintenance practices.

Best Beer Line
Things to like about this tubing: It's flexible but doesn't crimp closed when bent, and the antimicrobial silver coating minimizes the chances of growing something you don't want in your beer line. In my experience it's the best available tubing for beer lines. The antimicrobial lining doesn't eliminate the need for periodic cleaning, but it provides additional assurance that it's really just your beer that you're tasting. Nota bene: Most beer lines are way too short, about 5'. You can reduce foaming by increasing the length to 8-10'.

Very flexible and good quality. It does not totally prevent microbial growth. You still need to run cleaner through the lines.

A bit stiff, but overall what you would expect.
Not sure about the antimicrobial but, I have one empty line with no signs of growth of bacteria/mold. The line is a bit stiff and will crease if you bend it. Do not heat it for long if you are trying to put it over a larger barb fitting. Overall it is a good product.
