Description

MoreBeer!'s Patent Pending sparge arm design is the perfect addition to almost any all grain setup! This sparge arm assembly is made completely of stainless steel and silicone, and has two adjustment points. One of these will help to hold the sparge arm against your kettle, while the other allows you to move the sparge arm up or down inside the kettle to accommodate different amounts of grain. These adjustment knobs are very easy to hand tighten and loosen, meaning no tools are necessary. Excellent for sparging as well as recirculating your mash in a RIMS or HERMS system!

To use, simply install on your kettle wall, tighten down the stopper bumper to hold the sparge arm in place, adjust the height of the bottom disc to be right above your grain bed but below the mash tun's water level, and adjust the flow level using the included ball valve. This unit will not include a barb or quick disconnect on the inlet of the ball valve, as every brewery is different. Please choose an inlet attachment from the sparge arms recommended items. Note - This sparge arm will not fit on most coolers. Make sure to check out the video in the video tab below.

Features

  • 100% stainless and silicone construction
  • Two adjustment knobs make it extremely universal
  • Included ball valve allows you to increase or decrease the flow rate during sparge or recirculation
  • Included check ball will prevent back flow
  • Can adjust from the top of your kettle to 12-13 inches down into your kettle
  • A single, large diameter outlet port trickles onto a stainless disc, which distributes sparge water gently and evenly. This port is also much easier to flush out and keep clean than many other sparge assemblies with multiple small holes that grain gets stuck in during recirculation
  • Stainless tube measures 18.5" from the top to the bend, and 8.5" from the bottom to the center of the distribution disc.
  • Can be mounted on a lip that is up to 7/8" wide
  • Has a 1/2" FPT ball valve

I recently brewed with a fellow homebrewer that uses the Ultimate Sparge Arm and he couldn't say enough good things about it when I asked. After using it and watching it in action, I knew that I had to have it! I recently moved to a full SS system and this was the next step in finishing this new system. I am looking forward to seeing it in action with my own homebrew system.

There are two reasons I bought this. For some time I have wanted to move from batch sparging to using a sparge arm. The customers reviews strongly favored this product. And, I have confidence through my experience with More Beer.

Hi will this work with ss brewtech 20 e kettle thanks?
Jeffrey C on Aug 27, 2021
BEST ANSWER: I’m not sure of the dimensions of that specific kettle.. but the sparge arm fits perfectly in my 20 gallon blichmann boilermaker.. sparge arm has been awesome.. if you can find the dimensions of the kettles I would highly recommend.
Cheers
I have a 20 gallon mash tun, will this reach the center of the pot?
Michael Brierley on Dec 31, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I use a 20 gallon Blichmann Boilermaker for mashing, and it works fine. I use this for recirculating the mash - I keep the top of the outlet below the level of the mash. When it's time to sparge, I raise it above the level of the mash. It's adjustable to pretty much any level you would need. If you're going to use it for both recirculation and sparging, I recommend a quick disconnect at the valve to facilitate switching lines. I have been homebrewing for for over 25 years, and this by far the best recirculation/sparge device I have used. Over the years I used a spinning sparger, various homemade devices using copper tubing with drilled-in holes, and the Blichmann Auto-Sparge. The Blichmann device was OK, but I found the automatic feature a hindrance at times. I'm glad I made the switch.
When do you place the sparge arm in the mash tun? If at the beginning, doesn't it interfere with your ability to stir the mash with a paddle?
Jay N on Dec 8, 2020
BEST ANSWER: First, only stir in the grain while adding your hot lick. Once all the hot lick is mixed with the grain, do not stir. Let your grain rest for at least an hour. Place the sparge arm on the mashtun. If you vorloft, use the sparge arm to trickle the wart using your pump across the grain bed for 15 minutes. If you are going right to sparging, trickle the hot lick over the grain bed slowly as you drain off the wort into the kettle (30 min for 5gal, one hour for 10gal).
Sorry. I was not sure my question went through the first time. Will this mount on to a 15.5 gallon keggle?
Thomas S on Jan 28, 2024
BEST ANSWER: Max width is 1-3/8 inches and there is a plastic stopper on the end of the holding bolt that you will need to pull off to reach max width, I pulled it off to use on my ssbrewtech mash tun, but you'll need to measure the lip of your keggle to see if you can get it over
Would this accommodate a 1.5 triclamp fitting rather than a barb or quick-connect? Want to know if it would have enough space for ball valve handle to move freely?
Matt B on Sep 30, 2021
BEST ANSWER: Yes it will. I've got a 1.5 inch tri-clamp fitting on mine and there's no interference with the valve handle.
Can the ultimate sparge arm be used with the anvil foundry 10.5 on the inner grain basket for vorlauf and sparging?
muamer m on Sep 14, 2020
BEST ANSWER: I do not use a grain basket I just attach it to the side of my kettle and adjust the height to right over the grains while using a false bottom. S o can not give you an answer.
Will this work with my 10 gallon brew built mash tun? It looks like it is made for a much larger diameter pot???
Philip M on Aug 20, 2018
BEST ANSWER: It does work with a 10 gallon brew built mash tun, but the sparge will be offset to the side, rather than in the middle of the pot.
What is the length of the Sparging arm from: center of sparging disperser to center of tubing traveling up the sidewalk of the kettle?
Andrew S on Aug 30, 2022
BEST ANSWER: 8 inches from the center of the sparging plate, to the center on the tubing that goes travels to the sidewall of the kettle
Will this fit the Brewer's Edge Mash & Boil with pump kettle?
Jason P on Jan 11, 2021
BEST ANSWER: It won’t work, unfortunately. The sparge arm’s length exceeds your tank’s radius.

Great sparge arm!
Love it! Height is easily adjusted, and flow is easily regulated with the ball valve. There is just room for a 1.5" tc if you rotate the clamp so it's not where the valve handle swings. (See video, if I'm allowed to upload.)

The problem is that you can’t adjust it to be in the center because the bend in the arm is fixed. Way too expense for this simple set up.

Awesome Sparge Arm
I had to remove the nylon nub in order to get it to go over the lip on my Dig-Mash 65L but used a pad from a quick clamp to protect the side of the kettle. Also, if there were a way to better center the arm in the kettle it would be even more awesome. in the big 65L pot it still was off to the opposite side by three inches

Gets the job done! Nothing less nothing more.
Super easy to setup and use and gets the job done. Nothing fancy, just what you need. It would be nice if it could get a better spray when operating at low flow rates. At low flow rates the hot liquor just drops off the sides of the plate rather than getting a nice spray pattern. It’s really no issue though. I’d give it 4.5 stars if there was a half star option :)

Great product. If you have a 15+ gallon kettle/mash tun this is the sparge arm for you. With adjustable flow built in it make fine tuning the flow rate a breeze. I wish I would have bought this a long time ago. Solid quality and when used with a riptide pump it is perfect for my setup.

Too big for a 10 gallon mash tun.
This sparge arm is very large for my 10 gallon mash tun. It is also too big for my 15 gallon kettle. I have not seen an improvement in efficiency yet. Only used 2 times so far. Would be nice if they had two sizes. I might return this.
