Description

Performs well as a replacement for high alpha or dual purpose hops early in the boil. Phoenix performs poorly as a late hop addition as the aroma tends to be disappointingly mellow. The aroma can be crisp with mellow tones of pine, chocolate, molasses and other spice characteristics.

I have never used this hop, but the flavor descriptors of molasses and chocolate I think could work very well in my stout so I will use it for bittering.
