UK Jester Hops (Pellets)

Please select from the following option(s) to see pricing and availability.

Jester is a relatively new, up and coming hop from England with only a handful of breweries having had a chance to experiment with this mysterious hop. We decided we would bring it in and let our customers be some of the first homebrewers to test it out. Now, not much is known of this hop but our sources describe it as tropical and fruity with hints of grapefruit, lychee, and blackcurrant.

Nice hop
I made an N.E. American Pale Ale and used these hops for dry hopping and the resulting beer has been one of my favorites along with many of my friends.

Smell good in the bag, but not in the beer.
I've done two Golden Ales with this hop and both have a terrible diacetyl/phenolic like aroma and flavor. Maybe it's the batch that I received? Both beers were 90% maris otter and 10% white wheat, with S-04 fermented at 66 degrees. One was dry hopped, and I attributed the flavor to bad hop creep. So I brewed it again with just an addition at 0 minutes, and it's the same thing. They smell great in the bag, but both beers are undrinkable. Sad that I bought an 8 ounce bag and I'll probably end up tossing it in the trash. Anyone else have this issue?

Descriptors are accurate!
I actually did not brew with this hop. Rather, I did a mini-Randall dry hopping experiment with it. I was pleasantly surprised by this hop—mango, grapefruit, and very subtle currant flavor. Don’t listen to the haters. English terrior CAN grow fruity hops.

Great Hop For IPA's!
A great hop, strong blackcurrant flavor and aroma doesn't take much to hop a beer.its expensive though.
