For clean, straight cuts this 2-in-1 cutter is hard to beat. Developed specifically for EVABarrier draft line, but compatible with any tubing that is 3/8" OD or smaller. Features an 8mm jaw on the back to easily pull the collet back when removing line from Duotight fittings.
Works great for cutting squarely. Unfortunately, the spring came out, so it's rather awkward to use now. Sharp, heavy-duty scissors will also do the job.
Buy this if you want to waste $6. Otherwise use a sharp scissor, knife, small cable cutting tool. The collet depressor on the back is too weak to do anything. The spring that holds it open popped out when I tried my first cut. The plastic is too brittle and eventually broke cutting my finger in the process. Nice idea- garbage execution.
If you are doing a refit if kegerator to Duotight or evabarrier, it's with a few bucks to make quick and accurate vuts. Plus it has a handy Duotight remover tool that is worth the price of admission
Blade is flimsy and dulls quickly. I've used similar tools in the past when I had a job running a lot of air lines. I find this tool does not always cut EVA Barrier tubing straight and takes excessive force to cut (which I believe causes the blade to flex and not cut straight.)
Can buy a 6 pack of these on a common online retailer for a similar price as one here. The way the blade dulls, I recommend getting multiple.
This thing makes a super clean cut in DuoTight lines, and that compression tool on the end is perfect for disconnecting DuoTight connections. Don't hesitate at all to grab one!
Cutter works awesome for clean and square tubing cuts. Haven’t used the fitting removal tool, as I don’t have many in the system I’m still putting together.
At least for me, having a smaller cutter specifically for the smaller EVABarrier tubing is easier than using my larger ratchet tubing cutter. This little gadget does what it is supposed to and does it effectively. If you need to snip off an inch of scarred tubing after removal from a fitting, this cutter will have you back in business in seconds. .
As a tube cutter, it works fine. Locking switch (holds cutter closed so blade is safe) doesn't hold well and cutter pops open unexpectedly. Plastic construction means it is not very strong. One of the "teeth" of the Duotight tool broke when used to remove tubing from a fitting.
