Set your sights on a brand new Torpedo Keg! The patented, D794,899, sleek all-stainless design represents a new era of homebrew kegs. With features like welded stainless handles, the ability to stack with fittings in place, amazing quality and a great price we think these kegs will become the standard by which other kegs are measured.

Quality First
The first thing we at MoreBeer! check out is interior welds. We've spent a decade rejecting kegs made overseas because the interior welds have never met our standards. If a weld is not perfect and shows evident burn marks along with nooks and crannies it cannot be sanitized effectively. These kegs are machine welded and exceed our standards for quality. The weld quality is possible because these kegs made by an ISO certified commercial keg manufacturer.

Cool Features
Torpedo Kegs were designed to stack with Ball Lock quick disconnects in place and serving which is a cool feature for some brewers who have vertical space in their refrigerator. We also like the rolled stainless steel handles. They are comfortable to grab and will never come off like some rubber handles can over time. In and Out is etched near the keg posts for easy identification which is very handy when you are connecting lines in a refrigerator or kegerator and trying not to make a mistake.

Overall for the price and quality, along with free shipping from MoreBeer!, the Torpedo Keg is an amazing value!

Taking your keg on the go? Don't leave home without a custom fitted Torpedo Keg Sleeve!

I use a fermentasaurus and it’s a 9 gallon capacity vessel making 7.5 batches seems smarter as a 5 gallon batch is only using 60 % of fluid capacity

Do u need an adapter to hook up to a normal kegerator if so what is it called?
Matt Mcdonald on May 7, 2018
Where are these manufactured?
Brad Holmes on Jan 22, 2021
BEST ANSWER: I don't know for sure but my guess is China. Many professional brewing systems are now made in China. That is why some 15 or 20 barrel professional brew systems are 30-40% less expensive than American made systems. Historically the American or German made professional brew systems and fermentors tend to last longer as they are usually build more stout with higher grade 304 stainless steel. I hope this answer helps.
What size wrench do you need to take these torpedo kegs apart?
isaac axford on Dec 13, 2020
What is the actual volume of the 5 gallon keg (not the nominal volume which is 5 gallons)? How does it compare to a traditional ball lock 5 gallon keg? Do the slimline and regular torpedo kegs have the same actual volume?

Slimline Torpedo Ball Lock Kegs
Slimline Torpedo Ball Lock Kegs
BEST ANSWER: After purchasing several of these, I made some measurements of the capacity of two "5 gallon" slimline kegs using a high quality calibrated graduated cylinder. Sadly, in each case the total capacity (to the rim) is only 4.845 US gallons, which means a practical operating capacity of something like 4.75 gallons or less. If you are expecting to keg 5 gallons, you're going to be at least a couple of pints short in each keg.
Do these kegs require a first time "deep clean", for example with TSP? Should they be passivated with Star San before first use?
John P Buckles on May 27, 2020
BEST ANSWER: It's always a good idea to do a thorough cleaning and inspection of all new equipment for brewing. There is a chance of oils or things from manufacturing remaining on the stainless. In our experience you shouldn't need to go above and your normal cleaning regimen or passivate them unless you encounter a troubling spot, which if so our CS team is always around to assist you with any concerns or needs.
Can i stack two 2.5 torpedo kegs and be able to serve beer from both of them at the same time? Or will the beer line and co2 line being connected prevent them from stacking?
Steven Lipka on Nov 12, 2020
BEST ANSWER: While I agree with others that you can stack these and have access to the connections. stacking them this way is too tall to fit in my kegerator by several inches. two stacked is much higher than one single corny.
Are these kegs shipped with any type of protective packaging? I have seen several reviews saying that people received them with scratches and dents.
Gerrod McKnight on Feb 27, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes, they are packaged in a plastic liner and then put inside of a box.
Hello I was wondering if I bought 50 of these could i get a better deal??
Joey Ramsey on Dec 28, 2018
BEST ANSWER: We offer volume pricing for our professional and wholesale level customers. If that applies to you then we would love for you to apply to our wholesale and professional websites!

Torpedo Kegs - Excellent
I now have three of the Torpedo Kegs (and Torpedo beverage & gas fittings) - the quality is excellent, pricing is fair. Will buy a few more in the future.

Overall very good
I should point out that I'm not an expert on interior welds -- they look pretty good to me.

What I was worried about was leaks (based on other reviews), and I can say after several uses I'm not seeing any evidence of leaking. I'm using this for carbonating water at 80-100psi, so leaks are a non-starter for me. Using the trick where you center the cap and then pressurize before flipping the bail lever seems to work every time.

One one occasion, I connected the gas input fitting (also a Torpedo-brand fitting) and it didn't open one or the other check valve so gas didn't flow. I had to play with it a bit to get it to open.

Other than that, no complaints.

Love this thing (1.5gal)
I’ve only put one batch into my 1.5gal keg so far but this little thing is awesome! First of all it arrived pressurized so I knew it could hold a seal, it had clean welds, and it wasn’t dinged up so out of the box I already knew it was gunna be great. After replacing the dip tube with the floating dip tube with filter attachment I filled it up with a hazy ipa and let it carb for a week. The batch still needs time to condition but with the few samples I’ve pulled it’s held it’s carbonation perfectly so I know the keg is working as intended. Get yourself some keg lube for the o-ring as it does seat itself a little awkward but other then that this is a fine little keg. If it holds up to the abuse I’ll put it through I’ll definitely be buying the larger sizes!

After having repeated problems with my used corny keg with CO2 leaks that I couldn't seem to track down, I decided to buy a new keg for the change, The height will fit better in my converted fridge

Great solution for storage problems.
I like the 2.5 gallon kegs. They stack 2 high in my keezer. This allows me to store cold backups. I do wish they were a bit less expensive. I own 4 of them and am saving for more.

Nice kegs for the money. Well constructed and light weight. Stackable and come in larger sizes sizes. Floating dip tubes and sleeves.
I purchased four 5 gallon Torpedo kegs because I needed more beer storage for lager in. I found these kegs to be well made, light weight and easy to work with. They stack nicely compared to the other corny kegs with the rubber handles and base, which are a bit heavier to handle. I always buy new equipment and these kegs are priced right for what you get. These kegs have a few accessories that also make them nice. They also come in different volumes and configurations offering options for larger batches in one keg or smaller diameter for tight storage.
I will be replacing my old kegs with new Torpedo kegs.
