Description

  • The Tapcooler Counter Pressure Bottle Filler is an all-new, easy-to-use bottling device!
  • Allows you to perfectly bottle beer from a forward-sealing beer faucet without CO2 loss
  • Purge bottles and headspace with CO2 to keep oxygen out, prolonging the life of your beer
  • Perfect for bottling for competitions, sending bottles home with friends, or to take on the go!
  • Easy to setup and super easy clean.
  • For a Duotight-compatible filler, check out the NukaTap Counter Pressure Bottle Filler

The Tapcooler Counter Pressure Bottle Filler is the best way to quickly and easily fill bottles of homebrew directly from your draft system. No need to mess with alternate liquid lines or other complex contraptions. Just slide the Tapcooler into any forward sealing faucet (such as a Perlick, Intertap, or Nukatap) hook up a CO2 line, and you're ready to roll. Whether you're filling bottles for a competition or just grabbing a couple to share with your friends, the Tapcooler is quick and easy to use, and will help maintain the flavor, aroma, and carbonation level of your beer so it tastes the same out of the bottle as it would out of the tap.

A counter pressure bottle filler is the best tool for bottling, as the bottle is under pressure while the carbonated beer flows in, which results in a minimal loss of the CO2 in solution.

The Tapcooler improves upon the standard counter pressure filler, as it plugs directly into your draft faucet. Other counter pressure solutions require you to hook up a separate liquid line, which is not something standard draft systems have setup and requires additional time to prep. With the Tapcooler, you can have it setup and ready to go in less than a minute! The Tapcooler design is also advantageous because after you are done filling the bottle, it stays in place hooked up to your faucet while other fillers require you to set the unit aside and pick it back up again for the next bottle.

Connecting your CO2 line is also a snap. You can either hook up directly with a 3/16" push-fit line, or connect your line to the included barb fitting. You can also purchase the gas ball lock adapter (KEG881), which gives you the ability to attach a gas-in disconnect directly to the filler unit. We highly recommend picking up this optional accessory!

The Tapcooler is designed to fill beer and CO2 from the bottom of the bottle through the telescoping bottle connection tube. First CO2 flows down into the bottom of the bottle to flush from the bottom up. Next you open the tap and beer flows down the same tube, filling from the bottom up. The result is a more effective purging of oxygen and little to no foam during the filling process.

The telescoping bottle connection tube allows you to fill bottles as small as 4.5" tall and up to 12.5" tall. You can fill taller bottles with the Tapcooler, but the tube will not reach the bottom of the bottle, which can lead to some splashing. When filling wide mouth containers, a bottle stopper of suitable size and with a 9 mm hole can be used as an adapter.

The filler features a push button CO2 purge valve, which allows you to purge the bottle of oxygen before and after filling. It also includes an adjustable pressure relief valve, giving you the ability to change the filling speed. The pressure relief valve also acts as an overflow port for excess beer or foam to escape when filling.

One of the best features of the Tapcooler is that it's super easy to clean. Cleaning other bottle fillers can be a chore and take lots of time. The Tapcooler comes apart easily and allows you to clean all parts effectively and easily after each use.

All metal parts that come into contact with your beer are made from 304 stainless steel. The barb and ball lock CO2 adapters are made of aluminum.

Finally, the Tapcooler comes chock full of optional accessories that will adapt your filler perfectly to your setup. See the "You Might Also Need" section below for list of accessories!

Forward-Sealing Faucet Compatibility
Tapcooler fits Intertap, Nukatap, Ultratap, Vent-Matic, and Perlick 600 series faucets. These fillers can be converted to fit Perlick 500 series with the optional tap connector (KEG887). Cannot be used with ventilated beer taps, i.e. non-forward sealing beer taps.

Features:

  • Hooks up directly to any forward sealing faucet for quick and easy use.
  • Quick setup and easy maintenance.
  • Perfect for bottling for competitions, sending bottles home with friends, or just to have some bottles on the go!
  • A range of accessories are offered for more range and easier use!
  • Purge bottles with CO2 before and after filling for longer lasting beer!
  • Pressure relief valve allows for control over filling speed and allows excess foam to escape for the perfect pour every time!
  • Made from 304 stainless steel
  • Easy to use and clean!

Can't seem to get pressure release valve to work, like at all. Have to burp the bottle after O2 purge then beer only fills up about 1" up the bottle. I'm using the ball lock adapter and about 10 psi from the tank. Any suggestions?
William George on Aug 17, 2021
BEST ANSWER: I fill my bottles w/ at least 12psi from the tank. Regarding the stuck PRV, disassemble all parts (turn knob, spring, pin and gasket), then wet everything w/ some sanitizer. The stuck valve happened to me as well between each bottle filling session. Disassembly and sanitizer wetting is now a regular pre-flight check before each bottle fill session.
I only have one CO2 line off of my regulator. Can I take the C02 line off of my keg and onto the Tapcooler, or do I need a second line for this to work?
Micky B. on Jul 27, 2021
BEST ANSWER: You should be fine. There will be plenty of CO2 in your keg to continue to push out the beer. It’s possible if you are doing a ton of bottling you would need to recharge the keg with CO2 at some point but I personally haven’t had too when I’m bottling up a 6 pack to go.
In ref to the Tapcooler counter pressure bottle filler’s co2 barb fitting? Once you push it on how do you remove it, I can’t get it to come off.
Christopher Hager on Oct 25, 2023
BEST ANSWER: It's like a duotight fitting, hold the gray part around the insert tube back towards the tapcooler body while pulling the insert. It's a tight fit and takes a little effort to pull out. Within the tapcooler case their is a little flat stainless tool that has a U-shape opening on one that can be used to hold the gray part.
What size bottle mouth will this fit? Plastic soda bottle? Growler?
ted schurman on Jan 30, 2022
BEST ANSWER: It works best on standard 12 oz bottles. It will work with some of the imported 750mL and other sizes too, but if your kegerator doesn't have a tall enough tap tower, you won't be able to slip the inflexible metal straw into the bottle. You probably won't be able to form a good seal on a growler.
Can the tapcooler be boiled?
dustin striplin on Jul 20, 2021
BEST ANSWER: I wanted to use this for canning both clean and funky beer and I asked the company if it could be pressure cooked and they said some of the components wouldn't handle it. Not sure about being boiled though, I would reach out to them directly.

Perfect for filling the occasional bottle or growler
As others have pointed out, there is a learning curve to getting this to work as advertised. I found a use for the bar scale on my regulator's pressure gauge- .5 bar of pressure is perfect for filling. Having a kegerator with a tower, I needed to purchase the extension tube in order to fill bottles. Much better than using a piece of tubing to fill bottles and growlers, and getting nothing but foam!

A total loss
I'm not sure how everyone else got this thing to work in their reviews, but we wanted to use it in a commercial setting to fill a few bottles and haven't been able to get it to work as advertised at all. It won't stop the flow of beer from the tap at all, even though we have the CO2 balanced or more than what's on the line. We cannot get a good seal on the bottle without bearing down on the bottle with our hands and it just foams up out the top. There is just no counter pressure to it at all. It was a waste of our time and money. We're sticking with the Blichmann beergun for now.

You probably need accessories
Although I think this device will work well, if you have a kegerator you cannot fit it onto a bottle without the extender {$17.88) -- there just isn't enough room between the tap and the kegerator base to fit both the device and the bottle. So order both together or risk paying extra shipping.

Good buy for bottling on the go from a keg
At first it was a bit disappointing but after a bit of research and video watching I figured it out. Still working on the finesse of it but all in all a great addition to my setup. Instructions could be a tiny bit more detailed. Would like a fitting that worked with cheeper taps but the hookup for direct keg setup works well too. Definitely worth the price.

Awesome
This thing is great. I used to use a faucet adapter and hose to fill bottles. This is compact and comes in its own storage case. Because it's a counter pressure filler, there is very little head, allowing for a controlled, full fill. Love it!

pressure leaks
I actually like this product, its compactness and ease of use, pretty slick, but have had one problem: the pressure relief valve on my unit leaks pressure most of the time. I can still use it by keeping a finger over the valve outlet, restricting the pressure manually, but you want that extra hand free sometimes; sometimes when you least expect to. I remove and sanitize the innards of the valve between infrequent uses, and have tried keg lube on the rubber, so it does occasionally and inexplicably hold the pressure, but on those occasions it tends to get temporarily stuck closed. I didn't get a helpful resolution from the company when I inquired.

Works great, once you get it going.
I think this tool is fantastic, but plan on a couple practice bottles to get started due to the foam. Once you get the rhythm down, you are home free. The small profile, quick use and easy cleaning are paramount. I would not go in any other direction for filling growlers or bottles at home.
