Sterling is a great substitute for Saaz due to a similar spice aroma. This hop is very similar to Santiam but not as floral. Best described as herbal and spicy, with a hint of floral, citrus (lemon/pineapple) characteristics. Ideal for all Lagers, Belgian ales, and Wheat ales.

Beautiful Noble Type Hop
Sterling is a great alternative to Saaz and other Noble type of hops. They sometimes are fresher too since they are grown in the US. I really like to use this hop in a German Hefeweizen recipe that I have, and it is really wonderful and you would never know that this is actually an American hop. Try some the next time you need to use Saaz or another Noble hop and I think you will be very happy.

The Best Hop
The best hop. Lemon-citrus, peppery/spicy notes. Great hops for Belgian, German, or Czech beers. My favorite American "Noble" hop. Fits in well in place of Saaz and/or Tettnang. Plays well with Liberty.
