The weldless thermometer is fine but I was expecting the one pictured. It wasn't. The reason I wanted the one pictured is because I liked the idea of the hex wrench calibration port that is on the side of the thermometer. So, I guess I will just accept the adjustment nut that is on the one I received.

Insulation was easy, the only difficulty was trying to determine if the gasket went inside or outside. I got confusing information from technical support, I was told to put one inside and out. If that is the case why would they ship it with a single gasket???

Our club built a 20 gallon 5 kettle system and used all weld-less fittings to cut cost. This worked out perfectly and is functioning wonderfully.

Leaked a little at first, but I found that all I needed was to put the silicon washer on the outside of the kettle for me. Worked great after that!

I needed a stubby thermometer for my CFC tower I built. While searching the catalog I found this in the weldless fitting area. It turned out to be $3.00 cheaper than the standard 2" probe dial thermometer. I'm very happy with this.

I love the quality of parts, but I kept getting a small leak. I had to add another washer to outside the kettle wall. The problem is they want you to drill a 1" hole in the kettle to accept the 1" thread and then put your kettle wall between the silicone washer and the 1 1/2" stainless steel flange. When you tighten the whole assembly the kettle wall doesn't form flat against the 1 1/2" stainless steel flange due to the curvature of the outside kettle wall.

The thermometer in this kit will absolutely fit in the welded in couplers in the Brewmaster kettle. The whole kit is designed so that you may drill a hole in any kettle and install the bulkhead to create a seal.

Don't know for sure I put it in a home made 12 gal pot.
