If you’re a beermaker who focuses on maintaining a sanitary brewing setup, you will like the advantages of using tri-clover connects any place you need to attach tubing to equipment. easier to remove
One small advantage I noticed with this barb is that I can wrestle it off the tubing easier than some other barbs. Others hold so tight to require slitting with a knife to remove. I'm clamping the tube around the barb anyway, so I prefer the ease of removal when I want.

I needed some new hoses for our Blichmann 3.5 BBl system. I did not want large hose barbs as they cause more chance of large spills, since we do not care that it takes more time to empty a large vessel through 1/2" hole rather than a 1" hole. Also the yeast at the bottom of the fermenter remains undisturbed for the most part, this works very well for us.

I recommend you try this sometime.. David Roesch, Crafty Canary Brewery
