Description

A stable mash temp is one of the most important elements of the brewing process. The Ss Brewtech InfuSsion Mash Tun is the perfect choice for brewer’s looking to upgrade their aging plastic cooler. It’s built to last, made exclusively of 304 stainless steel and designed for those who want professional grade equipment and features for their home brewery. The double walled construction with injected high density foam insulation is incredible at mitigating temp loss and holding temperatures stable throughout the duration of a typical mash rest.

The venerable InfuSsion Mash Tun has been updated with TC ports throughout for easy integration with the rest of the Ss Brewtech line up. Additionally, the InfuSsion Mash Tun is the first Ss product to be released with the Patent Pending Pure Flow Valve platform. Fully sanitary, easy to clean, and micro adjustable Pure Flow valves are designed as the ultimate brewing valve.

Pro-Inspired
Pro features like a 5° sloped floor with center drain, zero deadspace design, etched volume markings, integrated thermowell, thermometer, and the ability to incorporate mash recirculation result in the most thoroughly engineered and efficient mash tun available to homebrewers.

Upgradable
The InfuSsion Mash Tun is now equipped with a 3/4" TC recirculation bulkhead which allows quick installation of optional accessories such as the vorlauf attachment or a recirculation manifold.

Pure Flow Valve
With a clean slate, the Ss Engineering Team took a stab at creating the perfect sanitary valve for brewing. The foundation of the Micro Adjust Valve is a removable silicone membrane that seamlessly integrates TC gasket geometry. This ingenious design provides a 100% sanitary environment where beer makes contact with nothing except pure silicone while inside the valve.

really well designed product, mostly
Pros:
* all seals and gaskets are removable for easy cleaning, and presumably easy replacement if they were ever to get damaged
* they aren't lying about the zero deadspace
* the outflow valve makes it really easy to adjust the drain rate to exactly match whatever the inflow rate is when fly sparging, but can also be quickly cranked all the way open/shut with a few spins of the knob
* pretty good insulation
Con:
* The temperature probe is far too short, particularly for the 20 gal model. I don't really care about 1/10 degree digital precision when there's a 15-20 degree gradient between the center of the mash and the wall of the mash tun at the end of the mash on colder days. I mash out as close to 170 as possible, and my mash out is also my vorlauf, so I don't want to stir at this point. All of this means that I can't trust the reading at all for this step, and have to hold a separate thermometer in the center of the mash. Will be upgrading to a 7.5" probe dial thermometer to avoid this going forward.
