Description

The guys over at Ss Brewing Technologies took what was already a really cool product and just made it a lot better for just a little more money than the original Brew Bucket. Introducing the Brewmaster Bucket! By popular demand, they've now added a very nice weldless thermowell and LCD thermometer. So now you can get your temp readings right off your Bucket without having to mess around with tacky, temporary thermometers!

What really sets Ss Brewing Technologies Brewmaster Bucket apart from other fermenters is that it has a conical bottom that allows trub to settle out in a concentrated space that minimizes the surface area of the trub that is in contact with your beer.  The included Patent Pending Rotating Racking Valve allows you to rotate the racking arm inside the fermentor down during fermentation to minimize trub, after fermentation is complete, simply rotate the racking arm up to get nothing but crystal clear beer. Etched Volume Markers on the inside come in handy when filling.

As with the Brew Bucket, the build quality is really amazing for the price. The welds are clean. The lid is strong and the spring loaded lid hatches are solid.  The lid includes a removable, molded silicone gasket that ensures an airtight seal.  We love an airtight seal so that we can be sure to see the airlock working.  The welded on stainless handles make the Brewmaster Bucket fermentor easy to move.

Features:

  • Certified Food Grade 304 Stainless Steel Construction
  • Patent Pending Stainless Rotating Racking Valve
  • 6.95 gal Max Capacity
  • LCD temperature gauge / thermometer
  • 40° Conical Bottom for Trub Trapping
  • Nests for Storage, Stacks for Ferment!
  • Molded Silicone Lid Gasket
  • Spring Loaded Lid Clamps for Airtight Lid Seal
  • Offset Airlock Hole includes Silicone Stopper
  • Gallon Markers inside for visual volume assessment
  • Stainless construction resists damage and is easy to clean
  • All other specs same as Brew Bucket
Drop Ship: This product will ship directly from the supplier. Delivery may take 1–4 weeks depending on the vendor. Blichmann products are typically shipped in under a week.

Can one lift this product using the handles provided while it is filled with 6 gallons of liquid?
JD Glow on Apr 9, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I have no problems using the handles and lifting my 7 gal brew bucket into my fermentation box which sits on a SS table. The only think to account for is the weight of the liquid being about 50 lbs for 6 gallons. I love my brewbucket, so much easier to maintain and clean versus a carboy in my opinion
Will this hold pressure for injecting gas during cold crash and for racking to keg?
Kyle Moberg on Sep 7, 2020
BEST ANSWER: In my experience the brew bucket can handle up to around 5psi before I notice any leaking, but I only ever try to take it up to around 2psi regularly. When I cold crash I run a 3/16 line from a keg at 2psi directly into the airlock bung and this has prevented any vacuums.
Is the thermowell large enough for temp probes like those of the Inkbird controllers?
Kevin Masaryk on Mar 29, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I have the InkBird FE461, and the Ss BrewTech 14 gallon BrewMaster Brew Bucket. The InkBird temp probe fits just fine, though you may actually want some mechanism to make sure the temp probe stays in place and does not accidentally get pulled out (painters tape will work just fine).
Do I need a fermenter fridge if I live in a hot climate (over 80 degrees F)? I'm going to be brewing Hazies which require fermenting temperature of 70 F degrees.
JamesC814366206 on Aug 5, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I would recommend you have some way to control the temperature. Most yeasts will do much better if you control the temperature. I have been using Kveik yeast lately which does work well at high temperatures. I actually get the temp up to around 90 degrees. Nice yeast and works fast.
I am completely new to home brewing. I bought this fermenter and a 3 piece air-lock. I noticed that a lot of brewers are using the 1/2" tube as a blow-off. What is the best process and why? Thanks!
Justin Griffin on Dec 27, 2019
BEST ANSWER: When the fermentation gets crazy, it can blow out of the airlock and make quite a mess. If you use a blow off tube, running into a jar, it can somewhat fix that problem. I use a mason jar, half filled with water and a bit of sanitizer. Occasionally it’ll push beer through the hose and into that jar and overflow the jar, so now i place that jar into a bigger bucket incase it overflows. I only use airlocks for secondary.

How tall is it with airlock on ?
Edwin Wofford on Aug 24, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The height with a three piece airlock is approximately 25-26", but using the bubbler style airlock with the side by side chambers total height is approximately 27-28". The lower side of the range takes a little force to achieve.
what gauge is the steel? 304 is NOT a gauge number
mark howe on Jun 12, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I measured the lid on my brew bucket and it was .043" so it looks like 18 ga.
What is the I.D. of the thermowell? I'll be using a DS18B20 temperature sensor (O.D. 6.6 mm) so I need to know if it will fit. Probably need an I.D. of at least 6.8 mm.

First wine with my new brew buckets
Upgraded my setup for having my wine age in stainless steel brew buckets. Easy to clean and setup. Love the thermowell, to keep an eye on the temp. Well made and the handles makes it easy to move around in my brew closet.

Quality shines through despite the price
Overall, I was looking for something with the features of a conical, but small enough to fit into my temp chamber. This hit all the marks I was looking for with the exception of a trub dump valve and overall I’m very happy with it even if SS stuff is a little on the pricy side. The quality is definitely there.

Quick shipping and well packed.
I like how quick this brew bucket shipped. All packaging was solid and it arrived quickly in perfect condition. High quality product that is fermenting as I type this. The blowoff elbow worked well and no leaks anywhere. Fits perfect in my chest freezer.

Step up in fermenting
Have been using plastic fermenters the past four years until one sprung a leak. So, looked for a ss fermenter and found this one. Price was reasonable for the quality. Fermented our first beer in it and bottled it Monday. Unit works well. The thermometer I would recommend. Plus, it fits in our Kegerator so we can try some colder fermenting type beer.

What's not to like?
I have been an owner of an SS Brew Bucket since it first came out. Actually. before they were available to the public, I had the chance to buy one and have used it ever since. Still do but when I need another fermenter, I've gotten tired of buckets and wanted a 2nd one so of course, I had to get one from SS BrewTech.
I lost count of how many batches I've brewed in mine and other than some wear and tear over the years, it still kicks out great beers.

Quite happy with it
Let's start with the good stuff - super easy to clean, well-constructed, and looks like it will last forever. I really like it.

A couple of things to consider, though - it's pretty awkward to move when it's full. I ferment in my basement at this time of year, and it was a bit scary navigating the stairs carrying this thing!

Also, it's not obvious from the instructions that you can't crank down on the nut when you're attaching the ball valve to the fermenter. You want to tighten it just enough so that the o-ring seals, but not so tight as to squeeze the o-ring away from its proper position. It took me a few tries to get it right.

Overall, though, I'm very happy with this product and look forward to using it (hopefully) for many years to come.

This is my 1st stainless steal ferment-er. The size of the unit makes it so easy to use when brewing. I've used plastic ferment-ers previously and this model works so much better. A+ to Ss.

Saved 3 batches during the heat wave
I brewed three batches and kept each at the specific temperature steps with the FTSs during repeated heat waves during the month.

Each batch was perfect! And cleaning the brew Bucket is so easy!

I recommend adding the right angle fitting to use a blow-off tube during fermenting, then attached it to CO2 to transfer into a keg to minimize oxidation.

Cheers!
