Description

Please Note: This part is intended to be used with the Manual Cannular Seamer (CAN100) which has been superseded by the Cannular Pro. This item will not work with the Cannular Pro (CAN110).

 

Canning beer can be a messy business. Keep your workspace clean with this splash guard! In order to have the lowest amount of dissolved oxygen in your canned beer, you need to place the lid on top of a nice layer of foam. The problem is, once the can starts spinning, all the excess foam gets thrown off in every direction. Add this splash guard to your seamer and contain the canning chaos!

This unit is specifically made for the manual Cannular model (CAN100). For the Cannular Pro splash guard, see CAN106.

works great
Assembly is required but the instructions PDF is on the kegland website so no big deal there, or you can figure it out from the photos. Without this guard, the can seamer will fling beer in a 360 pattern once the can starts to spin so you'd need to wear an apron or figure out some other way to block it going everywhere. Not a ton of beer, but just the overflow bit on the outside of the can from filling it. We used this to can a whole 5 gallon keg and it worked great. Would definitely recommend this, it should come included with the can seamer in my opinion.

Great splash guard, no instructions
The Cannular is a great machine but its company seems not to understand it is selling to people who want to effectively use their products: documentation and instructions are poor. And, this splash guard is a case in point--well-made, works great but delivered in 30-40 pieces with no instructions. Not a big deal but lazy and seemingly clueless about the post-sale customer experience.

Functional but WAY sub-par material quality
As others have mentioned this suits a basic need when canning - controlling mess.

I'm pretty disappointed in the overall build quality though. Edges of lexan are unfinished and required additional effort to finish - otherwise all the beer that gets splashed on the guard will be very difficult to clean. I was missing hardware (one 3mm bolt) and overall quality of hardware left a lot to be desired (one 3mm bolt head was mis-formed and unusable and a number of the self-locking bolts wanted to cross thread so be careful).

This is not worth $50 - consider when purchasing and be ready for additional effort to make this usable.

WHY IS IT SO EXPENSIVE
So I wanted this for my cannular. it looks like a nice unit on here, I just opening mine up last night and went why is 3 pieces of lexan, that are not even deburred or sanded clean so much, buy this and you will get 3 pieces of lexan, about 1 dollars worth and some screws and hinges. im sure it works great I just had to laugh when I opened the box

Get the splash guard
This guard makes a huge difference. This should just come standard in my opinion but I’m stoked I got it and cleaning up is much better with the splashguard.

Works well
This functions well and serves the intended purpose. There were no instructions for assembly so I had to put it together based on MoreBeer's picture, which wasn't too difficult. Also, it could have used a handle. Overall it is pretty good but I knocked it a star for the issues above.
