Torpedo Kegs too wide? Want to squeeze another keg in your kegerator? The patented design, D794,899, of the Slimline Torpedo Keg is 9% more slim than the classic model with all the same great features. Coming in at about 1/4" thinner than standard Ball Lock Cornelius Kegs, this keg has welded stainless handles and the ability to stack kegs with fittings still in place all at a great price.

    Quality First
Here at MoreBeer! we love nothing more than quality interior welds. We've spent a decade rejecting kegs made overseas because the interior welds have never met our standards. If a weld is not perfect and shows evident burn marks along with nooks and crannies it cannot be sanitized effectively. Torpedo kegs are machine welded and exceed our standards for quality. This weld quality is possible because these kegs are made by an ISO certified commercial keg manufacturer.

    Cool Features
Torpedo Kegs were designed to stack with Ball Lock quick disconnects in place and serving which is a cool feature for some brewers who have vertical space in their refrigerator. We also like the rolled stainless steel handles. They are comfortable to grab and will never come off like some rubber handles can over time. “In” and “Out” is etched near the keg posts for easy identification which is very handy when you are connecting lines in a refrigerator or kegerator and trying not to make a mistake.

    Low2 Keg Lid O-ring
Give your beverage the absolute best protection from oxygen staling with the Low2 keg lid O-ring. Even the most perfectly sealed keg is susceptible to oxygen ingress through the hatch O-ring—yes, even if the keg is under constant pressure with CO2! Even a leak-free, pressurized keg will release CO2 molecules as they pass through the lid O-ring itself, and conversely, Oxygen molecules will permeate through the O-ring and diffuse into the keg when they reach the surface area on the other side. The level of permeability is wide ranging and highly dependent on what material the O-ring is made from. Rather than the usual EPDM or Silicone, Low2 gaskets are made from a unique composition of Synthetic M-Class and Cross-Link Elastomers. This special blend has superior oxygen barrier properties that results in your beverage staying fresher for longer.

How many ounces is a Pint +

A US Pint is 16 fluid ounces. A UK imperial Pint is 20 fluid ounces. I was always taught 'a pints a pound the world around' meaning a pint is 16oz as thats what a pound is.

How many beers in a keg? +

There are approximatly 165 cans (12oz) beers in a standard 15.5 gallon keg. This is assuming 100% of the beer gets dispense with zero loss, reality with foam and such is most people estimate 150 Twelve ounce pours when working with a regular full sized keg. 5 Gallon homebrew kegs have about 45-50 12oz beers depending on how high its filled and then also how much sediment might be transfered from the fermentor. Kegs and Ounces Sanke Style Kegs and nicknames 15.5 gallon (standard Sanke keg or 1/2 barrel) = 1984oz (165 - 12oz, 124 - 16oz) 7.75 gallon (pony keg or 1/4 barrel) = 992oz (82 - 12oz, 62 - 16oz) 5.16 gallon (sixtel or 1/6 barrel) = 661oz ( 55 - 12oz, 41 - 16oz)

        Great keg

I've been using the 5 gallon slimline Torpedo Keg for several months, and overall, it has been a fantastic addition to my homebrewing setup. The build quality is impressive, with its stainless steel construction providing durability and a sleek look. It's easy to transport and fits perfectly in my kegerator, making it a versatile option for both home and on-the-go brewing needs. The keg has consistently maintained the carbonation level and flavor of my beer, ensuring every pour is just as good as the first. The pressure relief valve is a nice touch, allowing for easy adjustments and preventing any over-pressurization issues. Cleaning the keg is generally straightforward, thanks to its wide opening and smooth interior surfaces. However, I did encounter a minor issue while cleaning the keg. The gas side tube ring broke away, which was disappointing and the tube is unusable so I had to use one from another keg. I hope the manufacturer addresses in future designs.Despite this small setback, I would still highly recommend the Torpedo Keg to fellow brewers. Its overall performance, ease of use, and durability far outweigh the minor issue I experienced. It's a reliable keg that has enhanced my brewing experience, and I look forward to many more batches with it.

        Perfect for experimental ciders

Brewed three 1-gallon single-variety apple ciders Fall 2022 and wanted to compare to my main batch blend. This 1.5 gallon keg allowed me to do a fair comparison without having to commit a standard keg for the small volume. Nice quality keg. Might buy a second since they stack so nicely.

        REALLY nice little kegs!

Bought two of the Slimline Torpedo kegs at the 2.5 gallon size. They arrived quickly and we're pressurized! Low pressure to be sure but, holding pressure to minimize the likelihood of crush damage and, most likely, to demonstrate integrity with respect to holding pressure. Already have one filled with a small batch Porter…

        Mixed bag

Pros:* Stainless steel* Stackable* Fits my space constraintsCons:* Poor welding jobs (see attached picture)* Post tolerances too wide. Some are extremely tight. Others work just fine.

        Great keg

On basis of description & reviews I had high expectations about this barrel. I was not disappointed: the Torpedo keg is as great as I hoped it would be. This product radiates quality. The welds are neat, the handles are handy, the steel is good and the various parts work well (like relief valve, lid, seal, disassembly & re-assembly). I have bought three of them already and I will buy even more.

These are fantastic kegs. Look great but best is the ability to stack the kegs. Easy to clean and maintain

        OK but could be better

I bought a 2.5 gal slimline.. it works, but two issues I have are: The build quality could be better--the rolled metal on one of the handles was done a little sloppily but it’s pretty much just cosmetic for someone looking closely, not a common occurrence. Other thing is the posts are really tight when I use my normal plastic QDs that are fine on other kegs. My CO2 gas QD is nearly impossible to get on or off. I've banged my knuckles on the handle more than once, and the force needed sometime is enough to actually start unscrewing the tightened post from the keg. It eventually comes off, but not without some swearing on my part. I may have to get a new gas QD and see if that's better. I do have the torpedo metal QDs, but they will be reserved for my portable arrangement using a mini regulator setup.

Favorite Kegs, I have 3 now!

Great keg, be careful cleaning the outside, a nylon scrub bad scratched the finish. Also, order your fitting replacement beer and gas fittings from MoreBeer as I can confirm they seal well - other Corny style keg fittings may leak as mine did (even new ones). the posts are a slightly different height and so other fittings may bottom out on the keg and not provide a seal internally. I wish Torpedo would put their name on replacement body connectors so we are assured they fit, I'd pay another $1 for the assurance.

Fit well in my 3 tap kegerator

I have the Kosmos three tap kegerator and these guys fit well. There really isn't much to say about them, new corny kegs. They ship under pressure so don't forget to let it out before you try to open them up. I'd say if nothing comes out from the pressure release, you've got a leaky keg! HAHA. Purchased three to match my three tap kegerator.

        Keg Choice

Very pleased with the kegs. Easy to handle and stack. I will definitely choose them again. The only reason I would not have a Torpedo Keg as my next one is if someone gave me a keg they didn't want -- probably because they just bought a Torpedo Keg!

        Nicely built lightweight kegs

These are prefect for home brew. They are not heavy duty like commercial kegs which are expected to be knocked around. So you don't knock these around.

        First impressions...

Just received my 2.5 gallon and 5 gallon kegs. So they have not seen any beer yet. My first thoughts are these look great. They were packaged well and have no damage from shipping. They were also pressurized so that was nice. Quality of these are very nice. Handles feel great in hands and more rigid that the rubber ones. No more black marks. Welds are nice inside and out. Posts look good. The lid and pressure relief look fine. They stack nicely. Now for my only somewhat issues so far. The volumes are misleading. Filled these each using a scale. Filled them with 70 degree water to 8.33 lbs/per gallon. The 2.5 gallon labeled on keg as 2.6 gallon will hold 2.5 gallons right up the gas dip tube. The 5 gallon keg labeled on keg as 5 gallons will not hold 5 gallons. To the brim it’s around 4.8 gallons (which was also mentioned in one of the questions about actual capacity). Now it’s not a huge concern to me as I don’t normally overbuild my recipes to account for losses anyways but it would be nice if it holds the listed amount. Another thing is the liquid dip tube is straight and it goes down into the small ring around where the keg bottom is convex so I could see having some issues if the beer isn’t super clear when transferring. Maybe a few pints of cloudy pours. I guess you could shorten them slightly or I’m curious if a curved dip tube could be made to sit directly into the center of the bottom which would keep anything that would settle out around the outside edge.

        these are great kegs

they're lighter, nicer and built better than a regular corny keg. they're actually about the same width as a corny keg so I assume that a regular torpedo keg is a little wider. i like that they're stackable. I've bought 3 of these!

        Nice kegs

These kegs are good quality. I stack four 2-1/2 gallon kegs in my beer fridge and use the Torpedo ball lock quick connects. One new keg I ordered had a defect and More Beer sent me a replacement right away.

        Slimline kegs are perfect fit

Slimline are great for the V2 Komos kegerator. Fitting four in their is nice. Especially with two kegs needed for a 10 gallon batch. Easy to pressurize and actually do force carbonation with by using 20 psi.

        Preferred over Corny

Love the design. To keep things organized I run the hoses through the handle and it sits perfectly. The slim design has already allowed me to have two of these and a commercial sixtel in the kegerator with room for possibly another slimline torpedo (haven’t tried yet because I need another keg). If you can find a deal these are definitely worth it over corny.
