Description

1.1 L Simpsons - Golden Promise Malt grown in Scotland produces a clear, sweet wort that is the go to choice for Scotch Ales. Tasted raw it has a bit more sweetness than Maris Otter which has more a bready richness. Can be amazing in Pale Ales or IPA's where you want a malty base to fuse with the hops (Yum!).  Also try it as a smaller percentage in any recipe to add complexity.

Is simpsons golden promise malt barley? If so, could it have enough enzymes for an 8lb mash?
Jesus Martinez on Feb 20, 2021
BEST ANSWER: Golden Promise is a fully modified malted barley and can be used as the only grain in a light colored beer. With different grains you mileage will vary based on your mash temperature and water profile. I'd say with any malt you'll need to try it a few times before you can judge it fully on performance and flavor.

Leveled up my NEIPA
Golden Promise put me where I wanted to be with NEIPA malt sweetness. It was 58% of my mash with some malted and flaked oats to compliment. Never going back to 2 row or Pilsner to get what I want out of an NEIPA grain bill.

GREAT, FRESH, DELICIOUS!
I use this to add a little sweetness to my IPAs - even used it as 100% of my base malt in one that turned out great!

low color base grain
used this in a apple brew to keep color very light, worked well and malt flavor did not take over the apple
