I already have purchased two of thies top drawing dip tubes and like them alot. So I am getting two more for some other keg . now I can fill 4 kegs and let the beer naturally carbonate in the keg and then it will settle for clear beer.

I had to use a 3/8" ID plastic beer line for this but im getting burst of air coming through like when a keg is kicking. Im using it in place of a dip tube in a 5 gallon-- had a batch that keeps clogging. any suggestions to save my super bowl beer?
scott hoppel on Feb 2, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Use the silicon tubing, or more flexible (maybe longer) beer line. Make sure it is not catching on the Krausen on the side of the keg. Check for CO2 leak into beer line, especially the o-ring around the top of where the dip tube was, you must have a o-ring there to seal.
Why did the price double? I was ready to buy a few of these when they came back in stock..
Randy Lastar on Jul 15, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Hello Randy - Unfortunately we have little control over what suppliers charge us for products. When their price goes up, as does ours.
Does anyone know the exact dimensions of the tubing here?
Josh Hunter on Dec 8, 2018
BEST ANSWER: 1/4" ID Silicone tubing. OD of tubing is slightly more than 5/16." Stainless steel fitting that attaches ball to tubing is 5/16."

Excellent product - here's an installation tip...
I retrofitted six corny kegs with this. I did purchase longer gas tubes. I also used a 1/4" wood dowel 6" long. I chamfered the end of the dowel with sandpaper so the tube didn't tear and slides on easier. With the post off, I fed the tube 1/4" onto the dowel, poked the dowel up through the shortened gas tube (on the liquid side) and then scrunched the silicone onto the liquid side gas tube. I did not do this for the first couple of kegs and it took some time (even heating the tube with hot water). With the wood dowel the silicone tube slides on much easier. I will order 3 more tube/float kits for my nitro wine system...

Cheap Clear Beer Draft System
Perfect fit in my 5gal corny. Hot soak of the tubing, then a couple tries to stretch over a new gas in tube put in beverage out side. Got a stout fermenting under pressure and spunding. Plan to put straight in kegerator when it’s done! Easy Peasy.

Quick on the draw like horse name McGraw
I was in the middle of inventing this to do a top draw draft system just like home heating oil tanks when I saw these for sale.

Do not use with tiny air in tube. Save frustrating finger time. Go with 1.5gal keg dip tubes.

Add floating dip tube to corny kegs
This is a fantastic way to upgrade your corny keg with a floating dip tube. As others have stated, you'll need to add two other items to complete the solution:

1. Short dip tube (item #keg480)
2. Silicone tubing (1/4" ID, 3/8" OD)... approx. 24" (amazon)

Procedure: Replace your existing "long" dip tube with a short one (item #Keg480) or simply cut your existing one to length (~3" is ideal); determine the appropriate length of 1/4" ID tubing by sliding one end onto the new short dip tube and then extending to the bottom of the keg; slide the other end on top of the SS tube attached to the float. Don't leave a lot of extra length... it should be fully extended and just rest on the bottom of the keg well.
Run some sanitizer through the keg and tubing to complete the job.

Works great and you'll be drinking clear beer without the usual sediment on the first glass or two.

As for beer left in the keg... almost none! If you cut the tubing to the correct length, there will only be a few ounces of beer left in the bottom.

MB should consider making this a product and include the 1/4" ID silicone tubing along with the short dip tube. The tubing that comes with it is too small.

Floating Dip Tube
I don't have the Fermentasaurus, but I do make IPAs. The issue I have had is that they have quite a hop bite when I dry hop and keg hop. So I got this to be my floating dip tube. This draws the liquid from the top of the beer instead of the bottom. I also got a short little gas side dip tube to attach the other end of the tube to. I kegged a beer yesterday. Overnight 35 PSI and today I was drinking carbonated beer with little hop bite. Genius. I dry hopped 7 oz of Galaxy and Experimental Tangerine hops. Delicious

Needs bigger hose.
I needed a 8mm hose to hook it up to my keg. Hose that came with it was same size as the fitting for the float. I could not get it on.

Good value, but
I use these in my keg and they are much cheaper than the Clear Berr device. The only problem is that the hose is too tight to fool with connecting inside the keg. I swapped it out for a slightly larger hose.

i'm using it in a 5gal Corny keg
I wanted to pull beer out from the top of the keg rather than the usual dip tube at the bottom. I connected this to a new short IN tube, put that in the OUT, and it works great. I haven't tried cleaning it yet tho that might be difficult.

Came as described, but buyers should know that the tubing is a very small diameter, not large enough to fit over a corny liquid dip tube. This is not an out-of-the-box substitute for the clear draught system, for instance.
