Description

A replacement or spare Pre-Filter for the H308 diaphragm pump. The redesigned pre-filter is easier to remove and reattach with the need for tools, and fully disassembles for cleaning. Fully compatible with pre-2020 Super Transfer pumps that came with the original pre-filter.

I am replacing parts on my super transfer pump that fails to self prime. Meantime, I am accumulating extra parts because my request for help doesn’t address my question. Hopefully with this last order I’m back in business. My question will go to the pump manufacturer if it isn’t resolved.

Seemed like a much better design than that pre-filter that came with the pump that I purchased a year ago. In that pre-filter the screen is very difficult to remove and replace.

Not sure about temp rating. I use it for moving wine which is at room temp. Easy to remove and install. Have to be careful. Cracked one because over tightened.

Good replacement
This is a good replacement for the original pre filter. The metal screen had failed. Now this one has performed better, and looks and feels durable

Design fail
Very difficult to get the clear cover off to clean out the filter, which has to be done often if you pump fresh-pressed fruit juice, or if you need to clean it before sanitizing. There is a special wrench that allows you to get a grip on the cover, but there is no corresponding way to get leverage on the body. Inevitably you end up applying stress to the barb, simply because there is no other way, and eventually this will cause it to break where the barb joins the base.

This should be redesigned to include some easy way to grip the housing, or to accommodate a wrench or other tool; and the base of the barb should be reinforced with gussets.

I've replaced mine twice so far. I get 3 or 4 seasons out of one if I'm really careful.
