Description

  • Perfect for use as a 5-gallon batch beer fermenter or bottling bucket
  • Inlcuded plastic spigot for easy gravity transfers or attaching a bottle filling wand
  • Sediment blocker on the spigot's back locking nut helps minimize trub pickup when racking out after fermentation
  • Once you've upgraded to a carboy or other fermenter, the bucket will remain a reliable brewing tool for cleaning and sanitizing purposes
  • External volume markers provide a convenient reference point when filling the bucket with water to make cleaner or sanitizer solution

A six gallon food grade bucket for fermentation or bottling with a built in spigot and external volume markings up to five gallons.  Outlet barb accepts 3/8" ID vinyl tubing.  To use as a fermenter you will need to pick up the optional lid, stopper, and an airlock.  Includes our new Sediment Block Spigot, which will help minimize trub uptake as you rack after fermentation.  If using this as a bottling bucket, simply rotate the spigot to maximize product output.  Spigot includes gasket and sediment blocking lock nut and can easily be removed for cleaning and sanitizing.

If you use the bucket for fermentation be sure to use care when cleaning. Do not use any abrasive pads that would scratch. Once you get a scratch in a plastic bucket it is very hard to sanitize.  This is also why we don't recommend storing equipment in a bucket between uses as a fermenter. A hot PBW soak is often a perfect way to clean a bucket, followed by a Star San soak for killing bacteria.

Bucket has external volume markings up to 5 gallons. 17.5" H x 12" Ø

Please Note:

  • Buckets are translucent and do not come with lids
  • Buckets are not designed to hold pressure
  • Lids are not gasketed and so do not always form a perfect, airtight seal. Not intended for long-term storage
  • Food-Grade to 180°

I'm replacing equipment I've used for 5ish years and I trust more beer. It's quality equipment that's offered and the prices are better than my local brew store ably 2miles away. As you were.

What are the dimensions of this fermenter?
Jeff Haas on Apr 5, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Heighth - 17 3/8" Diameter - 12 1/2" at top 12 7/8" at widest part of the valve that i have on (my valve is not original to bucket but i believe is fairly similar..original one likely a bit less. Cheers
How long should I use a bottling bucket? I could just replace my spicot that broke . But not sure how old my bottling bucket is and might should just replace bucket too.
jeremy b on May 7, 2020
BEST ANSWER: We recommend replacing a bottling bucket about once a year or after maybe 25 batches. If there are any visible gashes or scratches on the inside you will want to replace it immediately. Otherwise you can give it a good sniff and if it smells fine it's probably fine for at least another batch or two.
What size tubing should be used for transfer? 3/8" is too small.
John B on Feb 23, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I used the 3/8 stick theend of it and hot water for a few seconds it will soften it up and you can push it on it will be real tight but as it cools it was make a leak-proof seal

LOL wow what GARBAGE
I bought 7 of these and the first one i used to lift up 5 gallons the white plastic handle that protects your hand from the wire metal shattered and i mean shattered like plastic left in the sun. Just got them today and on the first lift it splintered, the half that was still around the wire i squeezed with my one hand and it crackled like an egg shell. This is beyond useless. I will need to use duct tape to wrap the handle. ABSOLUTE Garbage. The ones i got on amazon are immensely better. After a few bad products from more beer i am realizing it is a garbage website.

Pass on this
Competitors have a nicer bucket with a lid that has a gasket for a few more dollars. The competitor's bucket also has a gasket on both sides of the spigot. This one is holding sanitizer with the one gasket for the spigot and I had a nice lid with a gasket from a competitor that fits. The spigot is also too long or should have been a bit higher up as this won't sit level with the spigot as is. I'll have to cut it shorter which will work. But I would recommend passing on this one.

Get a bucket with a lid and spigot.
Read carefully! Not a brewing bucket, this is a bottling bucket. Bought this to replace my worn-out brew buckets with spigots. This is not that. This is a bottling bucket that only assists in bottling. It does not hold pressure so is not shipped with a lid.

I've been brewing for over 10 years and haven't run into this before. Get yourself a brew bucket for secondary fermentation that can handle both the fermentation and bottling tasks.

The fermentation bucket and spigot are excellent. Keep note about how the spigot goes in. It has a lip system for the inside so you can drag way less turb so just mount it and screw it down. I like the inlet toward the top to drag the least less.

Sturdy plastic, fair product
Get what you pay for. It’s plenty fine quality, but the spigot connection was a little weak and leaked a touch. I worry about contamination at that junction.

Don't bother
There is no lid with a gasket that I can find. Buy a cheaper bucket with a gasket on lid!

Nice bucket, but...
It's nice and I love the spigot with the debris block and how it can rotate. the bucket is a bit on the thin/flimsy side. good thing it will only be used for bottling.
