This awesome little fermenter is ideal for any fermentation, up to 3 gallons.  The unit is designed to be an all in one fermenter and bottling bucket.  The bowl shape at the base of the fermentor allows sediment to settle prior to bottling.  The wide opening on top allows for easy cleaning, large direct additions of fruit, hops or other products and overall easier access. Cool beer stein styling makes this the freshest fermentor on the market!

Use this fermenter for your next batch of fruit wine, half batch of beer or any other fermentation!  Holds roughly 4 gallons total; recommended for 3 gallon fermentations.

What kind of plastic material is this made of? HDPE, PET, polypropylene, etc.?
Rich Z on Apr 1, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I bought a few of these and they work great. They are stamped on the bottom as #5 PP (Polypropylene) with an edible fork & knife food grade stamp as well, they are also stamped made in Italy, not China so hopefully some slightly better quality in plastic and construction there. I use these for 2.5-3 gallon batches of IPA/other assorted ales, not Hefes or lagers and never had any issues with blow off as long as I add some Ferm-Cap for 3 gal. batches. The spigots don’t leak at all as long as you tighten them correctly, I fill part way with water and then adjust tightness. Like all plastic they do hold a little odor from the previous brew but they are quick and easy to clean. Another good thing is the lid seals well and the plastic bucket is very rigid, solid and sturdy with a good thickness, not flimsy at all so they are easy to move around full of liquid and no fear of breakage when cleaning or using. They come with a cheap plastic S airlock that I replaced with a sturdier 3 piece airlock for $2-3 and it feels bulletproof for a cheap setup.
How tall is this bucket with the lid attached?
Peter Vargas on Jan 9, 2018
BEST ANSWER: With lid, it is right at 15", perhaps just under by an 1/8" or so. This does not include the airlock.
What is it made out of?
William Lewis on Mar 21, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The fermenter is made out of polypropylene.
Is this pba free?
Charles D. Coskery on Mar 11, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The fermenter is BPA free.

Perfect for 3G BIAB
I just got into BIAB for 3 gallons, and I found my 5-6 gallon fermenters were just too big for the small batch. I bought this about 1 month ago, and just was able to use it this past week. It is the perfect size for my 3 gallon BIAB. The lid fits very snug and twists on to get a good fit. The other great thing is the bottom is concaved which holds the traub away from the spigot. I wish I couuld get a larger one for when I do 5+ gallons.

Easy to usesd.
This is perfect for making 2.5 gal brews rather than 5 gal. Great for having more varieties of beer on hand.

good except spigot
nice little fermenter for 2-3 gallon batches. my only complaint is the spigot is pretty much useless. even in a low gravity beer I have too much trub to use the spigot. probably better suited to wine or cider making or as a secondary. if you use it with a siphon it's fine.

Great for newbies - tight lid
I bought this unit to help get my new wine makers started. It was economical and the perfect fit for them when bundled with a 3-gallon ingredient kit. It came with the fermentation lock, grommet and a spigot with gasket that all need to be assembled. The units stack nicely if you have multiples.

I like how the cover screws on, but it a little tough to get off because of the tight fit...a plus in my book. It is easy to carry because of the upper body lip. There is no edge gasket in the lid. The spigot system has a baffle to help keep sediment out of the flow. The spigot also rotates so you do not have to tighten or loosen it to rotate. The bottom of the fermenter is concaved to collect sediment and keep it away from the spigot opening.

I'd like to see one of these in a 23 liter size.
