The Kigabah Estate was started in the 1960's by Australian farmers.  The 1,520 meter elevation and rich volcanic soil result in a coffee that matures slowly.  The slow maturation process forms a dense bean that is rich and complex. The Kigabah Estate supports local schools, health centers and offers employment to the community.

A peaberry is a single oval bean that sometimes appears inside the coffee fruit in place of the usual two flat-sided beans. Peaberries generally embody the characteristics of a coffee with somewhat greater flavor intensity than normal beans from the same crop.

In the Wet Process method, the coffee cherries are sorted and seperated from the bean while submerged in water.  The bean is still has some pulp remaining, which is either removed by fermentation or by machine. Many people feel as though the fermentation of the pulp on the fruit is a major flavor contributor that adds depth and complexity. The beans are then typically dried in the sun and/or with machine assistance. The resulting coffee beans tend to be cleaner, brighter and frutier than Wet-Process coffees, commonly employed by regions that put emphasis on coffee acidity.

Very good peaberry
This is an extremely good coffee roasted to a medium roast just a hair in the second crack, would definitely buy again two thumbs up

I don't have a sophisticated pallete but I know what I like. I roast this to Vienna stage in a Fresh Roast SR500, grind it to a fine grind and it's as good as any coffee that I've ever had. Especially for breakfast.

Very nice coffee
Roasted this peaberry in a Freshroast 500 with great results. I didn't have the problems roasting this as I've had with other peaberries. I got a great even full city + roast with great flavor.
